How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

Are use chat and got six months for $30. With tax and service fees and a small credit from my previous subscription it was $38.38. I do this every six months because I don’t want to leave a credit card. Tried something new this time. Ordered an E gift card through Kroger for SiriusXM for the exact amount of my bill and used it to pay online. Can avoid them sending me an invoice this way.

I called to cancel. Ended up being offered $6/month which was what I was paying with an annual subscription. I am comfortable with that.

My car was up for renewal, so as i do every year for the last 16 years, i called to cancel or get a better deal for Platinum. After 20 minutes of negotiating, they would not budge, so i canceled and told them i will wait for them to send me a better offer in a few days. Lo and behold, 3 days later, i get an email offer for $4.99 a month, which includes platinum for a year.

Paying for a year's worth of satellite radio service in advance is the simplest method to save money. The Mostly Music bundle does not have a price break, however the Select package and the All Access package both have savings of $14.99 and $40.88.

Sadly, I just called and they are no longer offering the 6 months for $29.94. Now they are doing a Platinum Plan and an Advantage Plan. They are promoting the fact that the monthly price will remain Forever the same. It is an auto renewal with a credit card. Still too high. And I do not want them to have my credit card on file.

Looks like you now must to have a credit card on file with Sirius XM rather than paying by check or money order. Makes it much easier for them to auto renew without your consent. I ended up cancelling today because my XM Select 6 month subscription($29.94 plus fees and taxes) was no longer available. And these new Platinum and Advantage subscriptions need a credit card. no thanks.

After over 10 years of calling and getting $5 per month for various lengths of time, they would not offer it this time. The best they could do was $6/mo plus fees and taxes, after numerous attempts. Even when they offer $4.99/mo on their website for inactive radios. Just on principles alone, I told them to cancel. Then I went to the Sirius XM website, choose my now inactive radio, and got the $4.99 price. If that's how they want to play the game, fine. Website link:

Customer Service is certainly pushing back on fully discounted subscriptions. I've been 'negotiating' a discounted price for several years and I'm lifetime (home account) member since 2007. All I wanted to do was maintain my current pricing plan, but the best they would do was a $9.xx annual increase. The principal of the matter actually brought me to canceling my vehicle subscription. They wouldn't budge and neither would (or will) I. With Covid restrictions, I'm rarely in my vehicle anymore anyway. So I canceled. First time for everything I guess. Next time I'm in my car will serve as a reminder to check in for current discount pricing - or wait for a mailed discount offer.

Called to cancel (renew) for the $60 I have been getting for the last 4 or 5 years. They would not budge from $66 for the year and cancelled me. Will have to have to see if they send me a deal, or we may have parted ways.

I have been renewing at the promotional rate (every 6 months or 12 months) for probably 10 years now. I called twice in the past couple days, and both agents told me that my $60/year deal is no longer available (as of 10/1/2021), but there is a $72/year deal. I finally cancelled for the first time those 10 years. My online account is now offering me $30 for 6 months on one radio, but not the other. I am going to wait it out and see if I get a more formal offer.

I do the dance every 6 or 12 months depending on the last, best deal I got. They were really stubborn this time but using the chat feature I was able to get Premium for $110 (all in) for 12 months. Note that is ALL IN.

Also, NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD. Always say that you will pay by check and that you will not accept the $2 fee

I just renewed two cars at $60 per year per car tax included. Which is five dollars per month per car. The best they were going to offer me was $6.14 per month. They will try to tell you that the $60 per year offer is no longer available. Don’t listen to them. it’s still available. You just need to work a little harder to get it. You will really need to sell the fact that you are going to cancel if they don’t offer it to you. If the agent refuses to offer to you just hang up and call again. This is the best offer you’ll get

I just called 1-888-601-6302 and was told the $60 promo expired last month and the new promo is $72 which at $6 per month is better than the $23 per month my auto renewal was setup for.

10-28-21 called cust service as my subscription was up for renewal 11-1 tried to get the $60 fees for 12 months that I’ve been able to get for several years now and they would not honor that rate kept offering rates over $100 I kept pushing back about the $60 for 12 months he said that was no longer offered and when I said ok cancel my services he came back with $72 fees which makes it $6 a month before fees total was $87. It’s comes out to be $15 more total then before which I won’t gripe over it’s still a decent deal for 1 year compared to the full price.

Took a bit of effort using chat but got old Select (now Music & Entertainment) for $5.99/mo taxes & fees = hair over $90yr. Probably will cancel next year and wait for offer in the mail.

Definitely the hardest time I've had renewing our 2 radios in 6 yrs. CSR was quite stingy with offers and I actually had to go all the way to cancelling. In the middle of the cancellation process, he came back with a $5.99/mo. offer for 1 year. The plans have changed and I'm not entirely sure everything we're used to will be included in the new plan. If not, we'll cancel and try again.

A bit of pain today, but I got the Music & Entertainment deal for $60 plus fees and taxes for one year. But I had to fight for it this time. The supposed 'best rate' they could give me was $72/year plus F&T for a total of $93.77. I told them I wanted the lower rate again. After threatening to cancel, they give me their best rate, but also applied a one time discount of $15.67. So the rate was the same as last year. Total was $78.10.

Renewed today and got the Platinum Advantage plan for $131 USD per year. The confirmation e-mail (and the XM rep) say I will get the same price when it auto-renews next year. I'm happy at ~$11 per month for Platinum with rollover at this price to avoid the yearly cancel/renewal dance. If it goes up, I'll get my dancing shoes back out. On the NavLink and Traffic & Weather side, I had been getting this combo for $3 USD per month for 6 years with no hesitation on renewal. Today, they would only go full price on each service, so I dropped them. We'll see if I get any 'please come back' offers, or if Sirius is trying to get out of that part of their business. Time on call with the Sirius rep was 20 minutes today. Thanks to all who share renewal info here. It's saved me a lot of money the past few years.
