How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

My yearly renewal was due and originally paid $60 year last year with royalties and taxes it was $75.55 year. Was initially quoted $92.52 for renewal of same. Declined that offered and was offered $60 year plus royalties and taxes. I told them that I did not want to pay the royalties and was put on hold for 3 minutes. She came back and said that i was approved for $60 year with no royalties and only taxes for a total of $63.64 per year. Simple & easy....thanks for the insight posted here!

Called right before renewal and explained my wife and I had been customers 8 years and cited the promotion on our accounts last year @60 for Select and wanted the Select Lite offering @ $60/yr for each radio. No pushback, got a little credit back and paid ~$75 for each radio including fees for the next year.

I've been a a Sirius XM since 2006 when it was still separate companies. I have used this Spoofee strategy successfully forever. My family members use it as well. I listen on my iPhone most often .I have portable plug and play radio listed as my radio on account so nothing about my car is going to impact my deal with Sirius/XM. You can access all your programming either through Bluetooth or an aux cord in older models.
I forgot to put my last deal renewal on my calendar so they charged me $160 for all-access 6 month so I called 1-866-635-5020.I told them to cancel my subscription. He said no problem and asked why. TOO expensive I said especially given I paid $65 for the previous 6 months. Carlo said no problem and asked if I would be interested in another deal, He then got me signed up for 6 mo. for $61.89 they refunded the charge from my previous deal and I am all good. I set my calendar reminder to renew before I got off the phone.
To avoid unnecessary salespeople and supervisors I think calling the CANCEL phone number 1-866-635-5020 is important .
This deal works.

My expiring 6 mo select with streaming was $60 incl fees. Phone rep offered All Access for $60 / 6 mo incl fees, I declined. I offered them $60/12 mo plus fees for select w/ streaming, was told no. I asked rep to talk to supervisor, who said yes. So, I renewed for $73 including fees for 1 year for select with streaming - I'm happy with that. Thanks for the advice!

11-19-19 - it worked for Sirius XM Lite....$70.71 total for the year - perfect! Thank you all! My elderly mom will be so happy I was able to renew at such a great rate...it's her radio. Merry Christmas early! :)

I didn't catch the renewal on time. They wanted to charge $35,21/month $422.52/yr. Ended up with $170 for the year two vehicles with streaming. $85/yr per car with streaming. I'm satisfied with saving $252.52.

I just got Select for 12-months for $60 plus sales tax. Royalty fee was waived with a credit applied to my account. I did this through their online chat. First offer was $78. I told them that I only had a $5/month budget for streaming music. They said they had to charge royalties. I told them that I was sorry they did not want me as a customer. They came back with $60 $6 music royalty fee. I waited 60 seconds and then replied that I was firm on $5/month. Then they agreed to the deal. Didn’t even need to pick up the phone.

Just renewed at $48 for six months (including fees) All Access. Plus got a credit for the partial month I've just paid. Same deal given for my husband's car. Definitely pays to negotiate.

Tried to renew Select for $60 for 12 months. They weren’t having it. Best they could do was $108. Told them to cancel in which they did. I will sign back up later under a returning customer offer.

I called and got Select (not Lite) for 12 months for $84, plus half-price on Traffic/TravelLink. I got Select for $99 the last several years, so I decided $84 was enough of an improvement that I didn't want to bother pushing for the $60 price and risk ending up in Lite.

I had to stand firm and the rep tried arguing with me, but I received select for $60 for the year.

Thanks for this info. Just called - didn't realize the husband was paying $220/yr until now...rolling eyes. He offered $60 taxes fees. I said no taxes fees and he said I will check w/ the supervisor. That's it! Super simple!

As others have noted I had to call twice, and wait on hold several times on the second call, but the rep finally agreed to honor $60/year, with NO fees or taxes, for the Select Package.

You have to stand firm. And it doesn't hurt to let them know you're looking at a page on their own website that is offering $60/year for NEW customers (when they're trying to tell you as a valued long term customer all they can offer you is $40 fees & taxes for 6 months).

I also told them I was looking at an online post with comments from plenty of customers who had gotten the $60 rate for a year.

My subscription expires in 5 days. I called and they offered the $99/deal, I said no. Offered $60 plus tax, I said no and offered $50 tax and fees included. Got it for Sirius Lite for a year.

Missed my alarm to call and renegotiate before the auto-renew. They hit me for over 300 for all access on 'forgotten' auto renew. I called to cancel....ack and forth game and got $120 total for all acess including all fees....

Had to go from online chat to 2 account specialists but I am satisfied at $60 taxes and fees at $74 for 1 year.

Called to cancel. Had two expiring subscriptions on 12/3 - 1 Select at $4.99/month plus taxes & fees and 1 all-access at $142/year. Using spoofee, I pushed for $60 including taxes & fees for Select, and $99/year including taxes & fees for All-Access.

First rep started with usual high prices. Said they have 'never' given $99/year for All-Access, and would only give me $4.99/month plus taxes & fees for Select so I asked to talk to supervisor.

Supervisor started with same story, and tried to get me to go for Select-Lite. Told him I wasn't interested in that and could he give me what I was looking for or not?

He finally said he could get me to what I was looking for by paying $4.99/mont for Select taxes & fees and they would give me upfront credit for $12.72 getting me to $60. On All-Access, he gave me $99/year!

Many thanks to spoofee and the commenters for giving me the data to get a great deal!
