How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

Renewed all access for about $50 (excluding fees) for six months. Also got offered $120 (excluding fees) for a year of all access....for now, paying an extra $20 to not have to call them in another 6 months is not worth it...

I called to cancel because autorenewal was coming up. The rep asked why and I said I would never pay full price after being on a discounted rate since I've had Sirius XM. He offered the usual discount of one year for $99, I said no. He counteroffered six months for $48. I said no and he thanked me for listening to the offers and said he was getting me a cancellation number. A few seconds later be offered the five months for $25 which I took. I asked for an invoice as I don't want to chance them ever charging my card for some exorbitant rate on autorenewal.
 
Just called 888-601-6302 . Was nice and polite and asked for $99/yr (plus royalty fees puts it at 118.40) and she obliged when it was clear I knew this was possible. As everyone has said, you just have to call again before it expires next year to prevent automatic charges. I put it as a reminder in my phone to call in 11.5 months.
 
Cancelled yesterday and my $35.90 Canadian, 6-month subscription ends tonight. Did not get any better than renewing at the 35.90/six month so figured I would cancel. No counter made by CSR. 35.90 was OK but would have preferred this for a one year period ($71.80) but no go. I will keep an eye out for a better deal.
 
Had 6 months for $25... was just offered the same 6 months for $25. This is for the XM-Select plan that has all of the stations that I really care about.
 
I called Listener Care and was informed there were no specials. I directed her to cancel. She transferred me to cancellation. I got 50% off XM All access and US Music Royalty Fee. Pd $119.88 & $16.66 with tax included for total of $136.54. Also got removed from Auto Renewal and my credit card # removed from their system after being told that was not possible.
 
My current subscription ends in three weeks. Called to tell them to let the subscription run out and cancel when it's over. Was transferred to 'specialist' and this new rep offered one year at $99 for Select (which includes all talk radio). I said no, and I asked for $50 for one year. She said she couldn't do that, but she could give me the same offer I had last time, which is $24.00 for 6 months (not 5). She also gave me $2 credit for paying right then and also gave me $3.88 credit for the remaining subscription that is already on my account. Pretty good deal with no problems.
 
Last time I was able to get the $25 renewal just by chat. I tried that this time, and no luck. So then I called and wasn't having any luck with that person either... so I said to just cancel. She then transferred me to another person who finally did the usual $99 for one year (NO), $48 for 6 months (NO) and then finally $25 for 5 months (YES!). With taxes and fees I'm once again paying $28.30 and have put a reminder in my calendar to call again in April...
 
My renewal package is: 'All Access' package, 12 months, $119.98 fees and taxes. Had been on All Access for 6 months at $49.99. I proposed doubling that ($99.98) for 12 months but she could/would not do that, so I took the $119.98. Yes, it is $20 more, but, I will not have to call for a year. Their content is good and the service generally quite dependable. Be polite on the phone. At $9.99/month still much better than my cable TV bill !!!!
 
I got an offer for 29.94 for 6months but also i called and they agreed to 6m for $25. But, I got the one year option for $99 plus tax. So, is it better to take the 6m option and hope they negotiate a better price later or take the 1 year price? I have until Jan. 1st to make a decision, but wanted to see what others experienced? Thanks
 
I just received my renewal for 2017. They want 200.00 dollars. Time to drop them.
 
Just got off the phone with them. Wanted to renew me at $273 of the year. Switched me to the cancelation department. Got all access for $100. Including tax
 
Just called about renewing all access (9 year customer). Last year I paid $122.23 for 12 months all access. They said no. I called back they said no, best they would do was $155. I did online chat. Price then got higher. Then the typist gave me a 'special phone number': 866 408 2796. This number was a third number. I finally agreed to renew for 6 months, total with fees was $64.48. Best I could do...12 months was still $155. must remember to call and cancel auto renewal. Hope this helps somebody.
 
$120 for all access. Be sure to state you want to cancel and not ask for a discount. After taxes it was $144 for a year.
 
I just called to renew. Last year I paid $100.57 (including taxes and fees). I called 866-635-2349, told the rep that I would like to have the same deal as I had last year. It had increased slightly, so the total (including taxes and fees) was $108.78. This is for the XM Select Family Friendly plan. I have been calling every year and been successful in having the rate reduced by half of the published price.
 
Just renewed for $24.99 for 5 months for XM Select. Told them I was cancelling because the price was going up (had promotional rate for previous 6 months for 4.99 / month) Have done this for over 1 1/2 years. Just have to cancel at least by the day before. They kept offering me better rates until I told them I wasn't paying more than $5 month.
 
Called the cancel line and told them they were about to charge too much. Offered $99/yr or 48/6mos. I said I remember paying around $30 per six months and he said that is a promo and will offer that for a total of $27.97/6mos.
