How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

just got $115.86/yr. including taxes. I had to negotiate 2 lower the price from $177 to $131 to final price. I informed them I would not pay any amount higher.

Just got one car xm all access $56 and one car xm select $28. Both with change. Went thru two people but easy....about 20 mins on the phone

Called and the first rep told me there were no promotions on my radio. Wouldn't budge. Called right back and the second rep got me $119 yr. (all access). It took some haggling back and forth, but stand your ground and call back if the rep won't give a discount. I also asked for the card to be taken off so that it will not be auto renewed.

Just renewed for 6 months and said I would only continue service if they continued the 'promotional rate' of $32.80 / 6 months. The rep asked if she could place me on hold to speak to one of her 'Account Specialists' and when she came back on she said she can honor that. Don't be afraid to haggle with these folks. In the 3 vehicles we have with Sirius I've got 3 different prices but all within $4 of each other. I don't know if Sirius is hurting that badly for business or if the reps are compensated more heavily on retention but either way don't be afraid to ask and press the issue as much as you're comfortable. I assure you, like jewelry or automobiles, the price is very much negotiable!

I was blessed to just get the discount of $99!!! My subscription was due a month ago and they would not give me the discount. So they mailed me a bill and said I had 30 days to think about renewing at full price. Upon calling now I did receive the discount!! WooHoo! Thanks SiriusXM

$24.99 for six months - tried to talk me into the 'free' radio free 'accessory' kit & one month free rate on the radio, but told me if I didn't activate it, I would have to return it within one month or get charged. Told them kindly thanks, but no thanks, just want the cheaper rate for six months.

All in all it was a 20 minute phone call, but well worth it to change my plan from ~$95 dollars for six months to ~$28 dollars for six months.

Called first time - no discount offered. Called again, told them I was a loyal customer since 2011 and really couldn't swallow the high renewal rate (I got the discounted rate last year after seeing this site). Without hesitation, she offered me the $99/year rate and thanked me for being a loyal customer. Since my subscription only runs out on April 13th, my renewal rate was credited a few bucks and applied to my charge today. Total was $108.33 (with credit and all fees). MUCH better than the $204.88 they wanted to charge me for one year of XM Select. If the first rep doesn't offer a discount, keep trying. It WILL work eventually!

my mom and i have XM and every 5 months, she calls for me and herself. stating she wants to cancel. and EVERY TIME, the offer the 5 months for 25$. she's never had an issue with it. this has been going on for at least a couple years now.

I do this EVERY year and I am charged $99 plus fees which totals $118.00. My original billing was for $218.55 total. Not going to pay that much!

I do this EVERY year. Just hung up talking to them again $99 plus fees and my total now is $118.00 instead of original billing of $218.55/yearly!!

Tried this for the first time ... BOOM, 99/year, plus taxes and fees. Good for them. While I love the service, it's too expensive for me given the little time I'm in my car these days. At that price, it's doable.

I have All Access and wanted it for another year but did not want to pay the renewal price of $273. I called 866-635-2349 and spoke with 'Mary' who has an Indian accent. I told her that I want the $119 price. She went away for a few minutes to 'check with her team', then reported that no discounts were available.

Next I told her that I wanted to cancel. She transferred me to 'Charles' who has a Florida accent. I explained that I wanted the $119 price or I would cancel. He gave me that price, which became $137.05 after fees and taxes.

Some tips:
-- Do this just a few days before your current package expires. They terminate your current package immediately and start the one-year clock, so the longer you wait, the longer you can wait next year.
-- When they ask 'what about the service do you like', answer 'all of it'. This shortcuts a page of the script. If you answer e.g. 'the music', they will try to sell you a music-only package.
-- When you reach the retentions specialist, state immediately that you will cancel if you do not get the current price (whatever has been recently reported on this and similar sites.) Their script will not let them give you that price unless you instruct them to cancel.

I have two radios and have been doing this every 6 months for about 3 years now. 6 (yes, six) Months of XM Select for $25 plus taxes and fees ($28.46 total per radio).

Well I call to see about maybe tring the service asked if had any free trials said no then I tried calling and the girl did not understand that I was interested in service what a pain in the butt well if they want you to get service maybe should offer something to get it so think might judt stick with 2 radio stations and my CD's LOL

called 866-635-2349 for 6 months at 24.99. The key is to have them mail you the invoice. They'll try to charge a fee to invoice but they waived it for me the first time and just did it again for the renewal. Total price, with taxes and fees, is 29.99. Good luck!

I called the above number, and asked for one year for $99 (will fees and taxes less an $.86 credit it was $120.53 or something). She nicely asked what my plan was if I didn't get that rate and I said I would cancel. So she checked, and I got that rate. My last rate was $89 for 6 months after a lot of talking, so this was refreshingly fast. And I don't have to call for a year. I spoke with her manager and complemented Erica on her responsiveness and speed. It can only help her. Thanks to everyone for posting info. It's very helpful!!

I had the $24.99 rate for 6 months. The renewal invoice came in at $95, so I called, as I do every 6 months. In the past, I've threatened to cancel and they have given me the same rate. This time I was told by three different reps that this rate no longer existed, so I finally cancelled. I received an email survey later that day asking about the quality of my service , so I told them I cancelled Within a day I received a call from their 'resolution center' at 866-409-1296 offering me the $24.99 rate again. Playing this game every 6 months is time=-consuming and frustrating, but they must get enough people who pay the asking price that that it's worth their while to continue doing it this way.

Called in to cancel. 1st rep offered $99 ($118 w/ taxes/fees). On the phone for 9 min. We'll dance again in 12 months.
