How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

I just called to say I wanted to cancel the service for my husband's car and they transferred me to their cancellation dept 1-866-635-2349. I spoke to Pau and said I needed to cancel because of higher college expenses, which is true. He first offered the $99/year rate and I said that was still too high since college increases this year was in the thousands of $. He then offered $44.97 for six months (which is $89.94/yr) and I said that wasn't that much of a discount from the $99 annual rate, although I appreciated his trying to lower our rate. I then said I found a promo code online that offered $20 for five months and asked if I could use that on my new car (trial period just expired a few days ago). He said he could honor that new member rate but not for my husband's car since he was not a new member. He said he could renew my husband's rate at $25 for five months. I agreed. While the $20 ($22.77 including taxes/fees) and $25 ($28.46 including taxes/fees) rates renew in five months at $49.55 and $33.02, respectively (the second new car is at a lower rate given their multi-car discount), including taxes/fees every five months., Pau said I could call back again and renegotiate the rates. I definitely will!

I just got off the phone with a rep and got the 5 months for 28.46 total. I had a balance of 97 and change. My subscription was up in january and I waited until they called with the message that my service would be cut off in 48 hours. the rep tried to offer me one year for $99 and I told her it was too much. She then offered me the 5 months for $25 and cleared the balance on my account! it only took about 8 minutes and I was thrilled! I'll call in 5 months to see if I can get a better deal.

Just renewed all access and nav traffic for one year. $162.88. No hassle. 5 minute phone call.

Turned down the first couple offers and ended up renewing for 6 months at $52.42 including all fees and taxes.

I just renewed my daughter's 6-month subscription by phone for $28.46. The rep first offered me a rate of $99 for one year. I told him that this was too costly and that I preferred a 6-month rate. I was then offered the $28.46 promotion ($25 plus taxes/fees) for 5 months and was told that the promotions I had previously received were no longer being offered for 6 months - that this promotion was now for 5 months. I told him I would like the same promotion for 6 months (as I had previously received for three prior subscriptions on this vehicle). He 'checked' and he then offered me what I requested...$28.46 for 6 months including taxes/fees for the Select package. The phone number I called was 877-635-5005 and our conversation lasted between 5-6 minutes.

worked perfect. Called the number above, 1-888-601-6302, and asked to have the service for 6 months for $25. She first tried to sell me the $99/Year but told her not interested as car is a lease( it is but for another 18 months). She immediately said not a problem we will sign you up again for the 6 month deal for $25!! I have them invoice me so they can not re bill me full price at end of 6 months. I will just call back and get the same deal!! Thanks for this thread its a money saver!!

I just negotiated for the 5 months for $25 and the rep wiped out my existing balance from when my service expired in January until now. They hadn't yet shut off my radio. I first told her I wanted to pay for that time and cancel due to not being able to afford the $92 fee for 6 months. After a couple higher offers, she put me on hold and came back with this. I gladly agreed. Thanks for the advice!

Renewed for 6 months @ 5 month rate of $25 plus fees/taxes. Around $28 total.

I was offered 5 months for $20 on the select plan or $60 for 6 months on the all access plan today 3-8-2016. Took the all access as I like to have it on my computer as well as my phone.

Just got our yearly renewal for $99 fees/taxes (total $119). Just had to ask for a cancellation specialist and only waited a few minutes. Paid $89 last year, so not complaining. Really don't like this game though.

When you call to cancel to get a better deal, do they easily give you a better deal? I'm not good with haggling so I was curious if they just say, ok.

why don't they just give you the goddamn cheaper rate to start with? stupid...
every year same bullshit, get a bill for over $200 gotta call threaten to cancel, in order to 'negotiate' a better deal. fell sorry for the suckers on autopay...

Called in last week and was able to renew for 6 months $24.99 tax. I was coming off of the same offer.. said no to 1 year for $99, no to 6 months for $45 and then was told by the rep they would check with their manager. Came back and offered the same.

Absolutely works x2...I simply told the represenatitive the proposed charge was too high and I'll just cancel unless the charge was about 1/2. Immediately, she proposed a new plan at 119. THANKS
