How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

Just got off the phone with xm, 15 minute call. Told them I couldn't afford to stay with them, they agreed to waive the 'time owed' and gave me $25 for 5 month deal rate. He asked me 'did you just ask me for the 5 months for $25 deal?' When I said yes, he said he could honor it. Did not put me on hold, just gave me the deal. Very easy.

It just worked for me. The first rep said the $25 deal was not available but transferred me to an account specialist who offered the deal. However, I would have been fine with cancelling. Just be sure to set a reminder to call at the end of the 5 months period or the rate will skyrocket and be charged to your credit card.

My trial subscription expired last week. Told them I wanted to reactivate at $25 for 5 mos. They refused. Talked to a supervisor, same thing, no deal. They stayed with $164 annual for select. I gave them 1 more chance, they said no, Told them I'm done.

Was time for my renewal, was calling to cancel because of the $204 annual was too much. Asked for $99 deal. They offered 5 for 25 or 12 for 99. Didint want the hassle of having to call back. Saved over $100 bucks, 13 minute call.

New subscriber, played dumb, Select plan 5 month for $25 ($28 w/ taxes and fees)

called and threatened to cancel unless they got the monthly rate down.....they gave me 5 months for the $25. on the phone for 5 mins.

Just talked to a CSR. At first they were going to renew at regular price. I asked for any discounted plans and they offered $99 for a year. I asked about the $25 for 5 month plan and they offered a $50 for 6 months. I asked again for the $25/5 plan and they accepted without issue.

My 3 Month Trial in my Kia just expired today and I called and got the same 5 months for $25 deal and with tax and the invoice being mailed to me it was $32 until July 1st and then I can call and get the same price again. Sweet Deal for sure but kinda sucks that I wont be able to listen to the MLB games unless I upgrade to the 6 months $49 deal.

My trial just ran out on a new car and I am being offered $29.99 for 6 months? I guess this is as good as I can expect? (Same as $25 for 5 months)....

i just renewed for $143.31 which includes Howard and on line listening for a year
the fist operator said renewal would be $289 for a year and I was not eligible for any deals. I then said transfer me to cancellation department.
The cancellation department said no for the $89/yr but offered $99/yr and I said yes.
Total Renewal with Howard and on line listening and fees $143.31
gotta have Howard !

OMG thank you! Just called to cancel and she offered me $49 for 6 months for my all access plan. I just saved $70 in 6 months to what I was paying. 8 minute call.

They offered me all kinds of plans and finally I just cut her off and said I wanted the 5/25 deal. Boom done!

I got $25 for 6 months came to $28.46 with all the fees. I just asked to cancel since I was on a limited income (which is actually true.)

Just got off the phone with customer service. Call lasted 8 minutes. My service was due to end today with my previous deal '5 months for $25'. The remaining balance I owed was about $34 until April 3, 2016. I told them I wanted to cancel my subscription & not occur further charges. The rep started the 'cancel process' and while that was going through she wanted to share other promo deals & proceeded to give me the spiel about $99/year. I stopped her mid sentence & honestly said that I only signed on because of the $25 deal. She said since I'm such a 'valued' customer she can offer me the same deal again. With fees & taxes it came out to $28.46. I live in San Diego, CA.

Best yet.... $24.99 for SIX months....just gotta play the game in August again. But 22 minutes of hassle ...worth it.

I posted 5 days ago that I was turned down flat for the $25/5 mos. deal I have been getting since 2012. I traded my Nissan for a new Honda 3 mos. ago and was on a 90-day free trial. They said there were no Honda promos. I told them to cancel me and refund the credit I had left on the unused portion of the Nissan contract.

Seeing on the posts here that almost everyone was still getting deals, I called back today, the last day of Honda activation, and again asked for the 5-month deal. I emphasized I had been a customer since 2012. They gave it to me. Their marketing practices are just plain weird.

Renewed this afternoon - after being offered $99 for a year (declined) - then offered $25 for 5 months (declined) - asked for $25 for 6 months which I currently have (was renewed at that rate) - 5 minute call ...
