Well... I was sorta hoping to tease you along some more, but my (self-imposed) allotted computer time is coming to a close... I need to finish the dishes and head up to bed. So... I am very excited to have gotten one of these today...

I've been discussing Gardner's "Five Minds" with the long-winded guy in my class. Have you read it? Sorry, I haven't read Five Minds, so I wouldn't be able to discuss it. I guess you're stuck with your buddy from class.

We may be describing different things as Socratic. What I call that method involves a lot of teacher involvement with guided questioning. While it isn't exactly spoonfeeding, it also isn't free discovery.

No, I think we're on the same page. However, I think that guided questioning is a way of opening minds which then allows for more critical thinking and deeper insight.

I can't wait until Sunday - I'll be hosting a BBQ with my friends and I can then be the official "queen of the grill" woohoo!! :)
