How to Get a Discount on Sirius XM Radio Subscription

I just got the $25 for 5 months very easily. I asked for a one year and they would only offer $88 for the year.

worked for me we got it for $86.50 plus tax made it $96.50 for a year

I called and did this just now and it was xm select 140 channels for $100.13 (89 tax and fees). I was given options and told him my mom and sis in law only paid like 85 or 90$ and he immediately offered me the promo for 1 yr!! Jose was great! It's always worth a try!!

My service is expiring and I was offered both the 5 months for $25 fees and taxes or the 1 year for $109 including fees and taxes. Told the CSR it was too much. Said I wasn't interested unless I could keep the same service and pay somewhere between $60 to $70 for a full year. I didn't want the hassle of calling again in five months. It took about 3 times of saying 'no, I will cancel' to other offers but eventually she made the offer of $70.13. Almost met my price so I took it.

Just say you can't afford what they offer until you are offered $25 for 5 months plus fees. I didn't call until I received a crazy bill for $200.17 to renew a year. They tried to charge me $1 day for the time between the renewal date and the day I called but when I objected to that too they waived it. Don't give them your card they will save to auto-renew later at a higher price.. Pay the $2 to have a paper bill.

I call the number on the email from Sirius. First person transfers me to another number, second, person says he can't honor what email offers, so I ask for account to be closed. I don't need this. Third person says,oh yes you are legible for 50% discount. Sorry, Sirius you missed it on first call. I don't need Sirius. It was good but not worth the hassle of putting up with their customer service. Simplify life and don't put up with hassles of poor service.

I got 6 months for $24.99 plus fees. You just ask. They say no. Cancel it then. But be prepared to cancel. I wouldn't pay more so I was prepared because I didn't think she could do the deal but she did. I am very happy...6 months for $24.99 plus fees. Wish I could do a year for $50.00 plus fees...I would do it in a minute!

Just got six months for $44.87 including travel package and tax. Lots of can't decide conversation and cheaper to use IPhone conversation with wife when he dropped the price to the $45.

Just called mine was being billed for 48.99 for 3 months... did the video and kept putting her on hold while I checked with my husband (my puppy dogg!)). she just kept going down thru the offerss each time and just kept saying he said too much, tight with money.. then she gave me the 5 months 25.00!!.. less than 10 minutes!!!

Sirius auto renewed for $101 and I called to get the discounted deal, they agreed to credit me back $74. A 6 month subscription should never cost more than $30. Be persistent when calling, they don't want you to cancel and are very accommodating.

Sirius is doing what AOL did for years. All you have to do is call up and claim that you are canceling (and be willing to cancel)... my reason is always that I dont use the radio enough to justify the renewal price. They will immediately offer 1 year for ~$80 which is 1/2 off. I turn that down and tell them that I love the service but I dont used it enough to justify even 1/2 off the price. Then I tell them that I would be willing to sign up for 5 months for $25. They will look through their promotions on their workstation and finally tell you that they found the promotion and offer it to you. If your account has lapsed and you are being charged full price for 9 or so days, they will also try to make you pay that. Just hold out and tell them that you dont think its fair to pay $9 for 9 days of service when you have them at $5 / month. They will eventually give in and waive what was previously owed. Simple as that. It usually takes me about 20 minutes every 5 months and its so worth it. I love Sirius but my theory is... if they are willing to give it away for cheaper to other customers, why not me. Directv is the same way. Any money is better than no money.

5/12/2014. I got a 'returning customer' deal. $20 for 5 months plus tax/fees. Total $22.49 per XM radio. The number I used 1-866-408-2796. special offer only on currently inactive radios.

Called and said I could not afford the renewal and was immediately offered 99.00 for the year so I took that and think it is pretty fair although perhaps not the lowest possible.
Good luck

5/13/14. Called 1-866-408-2796 and got the $20 for 5 months deal plus 3 free months because it is a new radio (2014 Harley FLHXS that I added the xm module to the radio). 1/12/15 I will cancel before it renews on the 13th and wait til riding season starts again before I call for another deal.

if people donot list what services they are getting, their posts mean nothing!!!

Just called because my 6 month renewal that I paid 29.95 expired today. After saying I was going to cancel, which I was going to do because I was not going to pay the advertised price, rep offered me 89.00 for basic package for one year...wish I saw these post earlier because I probably could have got the deal a little cheaper. Will try next year.

Just called 866-408-2796, I was transferred to an account services specialist after asking to cancel. I renewed two radios for $193.50 total for 1 year. (same price I paid last year) One of my radios is built in an RV that I only drive a couple of times a year. Very frustrating, but worth it, I guess.
