If everyone in the world ran in one horizontal direction at the same time, would it make the earths rotation go faster? Ive been wondering for a really long time.

no. contrary to things like "world jump day", we don't really have the power to alter the earth's rotation.

that might increase sneaker sales though.

Okay Squidboy. Rumor is you know food. So:

Is there something I can put in my guacamole so if I don't finish it off it won't taste dreadful the next day?

It shouldnt taste bad one day after making it.. You are making it fresh, right?

You could try adding a bit more lime/lemon juice to up the acidity which can help keep it fresher, also keeping it from touching the air while in storage (put it in a tupperware, press some plastic film down to the guacamole and then close the container as normal) will help it to stay fresh and green, and that'll help the flavor too. While working at a Mexican joint our guac would stay fresh for days and tasted just fine as long as we kept it out of the air using the above method.

If you could give me a hint as to why it tastes bad (is it turning color?) I could help better, bt as it is I hope that helps.

Yup. Fresh. I'll go eat some and see if I can describe exactly what's "off" about it. If I don't post again within a half hour, call poison control for me.

Thanks.

Sure. I'll tell them that a guy who lives in the northern part of NYC needs medical care. His name is monkfish... "No, thats all I know, operator, send help!"

thanks, dude. knew i could count on you.

it doesn't really taste bad, as such. but i don't taste avocado, as i did when it was fresh. i can taste the lemon juice, but other than that, it's just green paste -- edible, but not something to crave.

I dont know about that.. Personally I use lime instead of lemon. Tomato, garlic powder, onions, jalapenos (not pickled), salt, pepper, cilantro, avacado pulp.. I think thats all..

WHats in yours?

ive got a question. what in the world is up w/your avatar? it looks like a chihuaha in a mouse costume wearing a pink vest

Well then I guess you already know whats up!

I thought it was cute and funny, thats all. He's also holding a microphone (I think) in his left hand.
Here's the fullsize riginal I stole it from

Avocado, onion, green peppers, lemon juice.

Lime is probably a better idea -- it has more character. I didn't salt, because usually the chips are salty enough as is. I'll try tomato next time, too. In my family, I'm the only one who eats spicy, so jalapenos aren't a possibility.

Gigio..

Its just a costume for a dog. Heres another shot:
(picture removed to save bandwidth)

OMG! You know what he is? He's dressed up as the monkey king in the Chinese Fable "The Journey West." I'll dig up some pictures for reference.

That characteristic head-dress is what gives it away.

Maybe.. I have reason to believe that it is a Japanese costume. But isnt that a Chinese story? I thought the blue thing was like goggles or glasses on his head. I'll try to find the costume for sale online and see what they call it.

i kinda thought it was a picture of paris hiltons dog since its wearing a hot pink vest, fur around the collar and the thing on its head looks like a tiara plusparis thinks she can sing so that expains the microphone looking thing

Yup. Chinese story. But remember, the Japanese were so primitive that even as late as the 4th century, they didn't have a writing system (that is, for the Japanese, the prehistoric days are less than two millenia away). China was the dominant culture of the region, and the Japanese powers that were imported Chinese culture (and writing), making modifications to suit their own purposes.

The Journey West is such a famous story, it permeates a lot of more modern stories, much as we might reference Shakespeare, or a biblical tale. In digging around for pictures, I learned that even Dragon Ball Z is loosely based on the Monkey King's travels. (Son Goku is the Japanese name for the Monkey King, and I'm told, he's a major character in Dragon Ball Z)

lol. Nah, just some poor little pup about to attack his owner. (wouldnt you?)

Makes sense. In the anime series, Goku has a monkey's tail.
