Butty, if Dan's idea doesn't work make sure your belt isn't broken. The belt shouldn't be a reason to make it stop, but you never know..

I have another laundry question. My daughter put her wet pool towel in the hamper, now a good t-shirt has mold on it.. How can I remove it?????????????????... Please help

Pine Sol
Lysol spray or liquid

lighter fluid & a match.

Butty, your washer will run with the lid up in all but the spin cycle. There's a little switch on the lid, mandated by a law to protect stupid people. Look around the rim of the lid and you'll find a little prong, usually plastic, that goes down in a small hole when the lit's closed. the switch is under that hole. Try pushing a pencil or something down in the hole and see of the washer continues with the spin cycle.

*shakes head* Please dont tell me she couldn't get it to spin because she left the lid up

 :bigok:

She never said that the lid was up. Besides dont women always put the lid down? I assumed this was true across the board.

Wait, was she trying to do the laundry in the toilet?

OK, I see I have to state the obvious.
Over time, the contacts in the switch wear, as does the little plastic plunger attached to the washer lid to actuate the switch. This is designed so that a repairman can charge $100.00 to repair this 'mysterious' problem. I'm sure she had the lid down (you did, didn't you CB?), but the safety switch was not closed.

That's a lot to assume Dan......:ignore:

Nope...that wasn't it. I guess I'm gonna have to call to get it fixed. Thank you so much for the suggestions though.

That is good, and I they have the best red beans too! If you have a recipe I'd love to have it too!

I can give yall a recipe for honest-to -goodness reall dirty rice, made the soul food way or Cajun way, or I can give yall a copy-cat type recipe for the dirty rice.

As for the red beans, theyre good, but my dad makes them so much better. Yall ever have homemade creole red beans? You ever soak minced onion in vinegar and put that in your beans (on your plate, not in the pot)? Thats good eatin.

Ok Snibble, the next time I fix red beans and rice, I will invite you over.

BTW, I picked up the fixings for shrimp stew today so hubby will probably be making some this weekend. I'll have my hubby call your hubby to let him know when.

While we are on the subject of NO food, do you have a recipe for beignets? I cannot find any from Cafe Du Monde here in NC.

Whatever recipes you have I'd love to try. I am a very uncreative cook and hubby would love for me to try something that doesn't come from a box. (even though Hamburger Helpers profits will probably decrease dramatically!)
