Thanks spazntwitch.
We really don't understand the freedoms we have until we lose them.
That's why this whole thing about "Jesus Day" and mixing church and state is giving me the creeps. I lived it, it was scary.

Great post iluvdeals - it's a very good glimpse into a very different side of religious culture few ever experience. Unfortunately, I'm sure those who have decided to close their minds a long time ago won't allow even an ounce of this knowledge to sink in.
Their world is based on shutting out rather than letting in, and they seem to be willing to do anything to avoid learning about any views/realities other than their own.

Blah.. blah blah... blah blah.. blah blah...

All I hear is all these liberal bleeding heart fairies complain about this... complan about that... first its Bush didnt win the first election... now its he stole the second election... Well to all of you i have one thing to say... Take your right hand, stick it between your legs and up where the sun doesnt shine, grab your head, and pull it out of your anus. First of all he won by over 3 million votes this year PERIOD. Your canidate lost, so please stop putting up all this childish nonsense. Second, this is a candidate who with well over 6 months of nonstop bad news still managed to beat out the oposition. Third, at least Bush does SOMETHING... All Kerry did over his entire campain is make vague promises about this and that, I didnt hear him once say HOW EXACTLY he planned to end Iraq or turn around the economy, all he did is talk. Fourth, stop blaming bush for a crappy economy... because if you actually paid attention in economics class you know that the stock markets are a indicator of the economy's health... And when did the stock market go down the toilet...? During Clinton's term. And finally, most of the people posting here have no idea whats even going on in the world or what the figures are behind the topics they talk about... so before i have to read through more nonsense go educate yourself about what you want to talk about and bring some facts along that you can put up... and not just spew the same nonsense rhetoric that each party line idiot does trying to make themselves sound smart.
Just because I voted for Bush doesnt mean I like everything that he has done in the last four years... but at least I make sure I know the whole story before jumping all over someone. The fact is, Kerry in 22 years in the senate did nothing... he had no visiblity whatsoever. As a leader you have to learn to make decisions and show initiative. Kerry has neither. Bush is a brilliant POLITICIAN period .Read this article and maybe then you'll understand. I hated Clinton... but at least I respected him as a politician because he managed to beat a president (Bush Sr) who has an approval rating that was sky high just prior to the election. So my point is... Give the man some credit where credit is due.

You know what angered me the most about the elections? Bush's flip-flopping B.S. about Kerry.
Check out this website and see the truth about "Flip-Flopping."

FlipFlops

I like number 7 the best. Clear and to the point.

Bush is a liar, and was a drunk until the age of 40 with no motivation or plans for the future (yeah, great leader  ). At least Kerry did something with his life and served the public of his own free will without daddy pushing him into it.

Now we all just get to sit and wait while our civil rights, women's rights, etc. go down the toilet! Hoorah!

Give me a break!

If you had taken the time to actually read what was posted on these boards, you would have seen that several people on this board (on both sides of the issue) have taken the time to articulate their positions very clearly and specifically, and backed up with several facts and even references.
You on the other hand have come barging in here spewing garbage rhetoric with no substance whatsoever. Where are your facts and numbers?

Thank GOD for democracy!

The truth of the matter why Bush won is that he has the values that a majority of voters want the leader of our country to have. There is a lot of complaining about the war in Iraq. But the fact is that Kerry is for abortion and Bush is not. When you consider that every stinking day more are killed by abortion than will likely die in the whole Iraq conflict by the time its over. That is why George W. Bush is still president.

This is a democracy and Bush clearly had a majority of people support his values on election day. The rest of you can accept it or move to another country! :42:

Oh by the way it's pretty hypocritical of anyone to be for abortion when YOU are already born. :banghead:

I think the truth of the matter is a bunch of people can't seperate religon & morals as they are two different things along with some people can't handle gays (free better now insecure males). So freedom for everyone in this country unless you are gay and/or a woman.

So much for life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness.......

i,republican, if you're daughter was raped by a crazy man and became pregnant with his child, and her life was at risk if she took the pregnancy to term, would you approve of abortion then?
Answer me honestly.

The problem is you don't look at all of the circumstances in which abortion can be used. Once again, the eyes and the mind are closed.

i, republican, I don't know if you read my post about Egypt, but if all of us democrats left this country as you suggest, the mighty USA would end up just like the thrid world country of Egypt. Think about it. We are strong because we are diverse and have different opinions.

p.s. Check out the article above. It seems that we may not even be able to get birth control pills anymore. And I am sure they don't have a problem giving out Viagra.

And some cool quotes:

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine."

Thomas Jefferson

First of all... that pharmacist should have been shot in my opinion... The birth control pill isnt a form of abortion because it prevents fertilization of the egg, which is the same as basically wearing a rubber. So I have no problem with it at all... And *gasp* Im one of the supposedly conservative anti abortion right wingers :D As far as abortion goes iluvdeals, if my daughter was raped id take her to a hospital for the morning after pill and in these types of cases i support abortion. However abortion should not be allowed to the idiots who dont use protection, hide their pregnancy from their parents, and then when they are a couple of months along... "Mom i need to get a abortion". With the amount of contraceptive measures out on the market... there is no excuse for stupidity. Most schools teach kids about contraceptives and all that good stuff by the time they are in 6th grade. All schools give out free condoms... so theres no excuse for not having some... Sure the O-ring imprint on my wallet might look childish... but hey... the world isnt ready for a Jeff jr :hmm: and as for emergency morning after contraceptives not being avalable to teenagers... thats a load of crock. I work in the medical field and i have yet to find a insurance provider that does not provide the morning after pill to teens covered by their parents policy confidentially. And if you dont have insurance... guess what... there are plenty of free clinics that will provide that as well as many hospitals that will do the same if there are no clinics around nearby. So my point is that abortion should be warranted in CERTAIN extreme cases... however... if you are too stupid to have safe sex or too stupid to get emergency contraceptives within 48 hours of the "accident"... you shouldnt just be able to kill a life just because it suits your life style

Unfortunately, Bush and his administration support abstinence only programs, as shown by their restriction of AIDS funds to programs/countries that teach other methods, such as condom use and birth control pills. This is despite the fact that Abstinence only programs have horrible 'success' rates and are generally useless in the fight against AIDS. If Bush had his way, schools would not be teaching about birth control pills and condoms, and would be teaching that "God says sex is bad before marriage, so don't have sex" and then he would wonder why the abortion rates skyrocket soon afterwards.

The Bottom Line!

Boy it sure seems like I'm dealing with a bunch of adolescents here.

First of all I pray to GOD that I'm never faced with that daughter raped scenario mentioned above. If I am, I will pray to GOD for the direction. My initial reaction is that it is not the babies fault! Anyhow this scenario certainly provides absolutely no justification for the vast majority of abortions that murder babies because of irresponsible behavior!

As far as serparation of church and state: The real purpose of seperation of church and state is that the government can't tell us what, how or who to worship (remember the church in England). It never was intended to not allow us to use our religious convictions in making our decisions and opinions. After all you all use your beliefs to form yours.

Face it the majority of this country believes there is a GOD and that all will be judged one day. If you can't accept that, you probably need to find another country.

Also, what happened in Egypt is not even comparable to our country. The reason: Separation of church and state!

You're absolutely right ("people can't separate religion & morals"). The reason is that our beliefs (and your beliefs) form our opinions. That's normal. If you're not using your beliefs, what are you using. :banghead:

Very well said. People are using that "Separation of church and state" as an excuse for their own agenda and trying to destroy what USA is all about.

My point exactly! This is true now, but for how much longer? The signs are there, the country has started to move into the direction of mxing church and state. Did you see that "Jesus Day" paper signed by Bush in the state of Texas? Did you see the article about pharmacists not giving certain drugs becuase it's against their moral/religious beliefs?
It's not just about abortion, this is much bigger than that. Abortion, contraceptives, gay marriage, stem cell research... This is just the beginning. Open your eyes and look to the future.

That's it I'm so done with this. I just can't wait to pay more taxes for all of those bastard children on welfare.

And I hope that if abortion is abolished that Bush passes some kind of law that the father of each and every single bastard child is found and made to pay child support for all of the women that they have impregnated and left. I hope the government garnishes your wages, I hope your wives and families learn of your infidelity, I hope your church learns of your non-Christian actions, and I know that God will certainly give you your judgment.

So if you men don't want abortion, step up to the plate and take responsibility, or keep your thing in your pants!

Jesus would most likely kick Bush squarely in the balls for using the parts of his teachings that suited him and his agenda (anti-gay, anti-abortion, etc.) and overlooking the others (thou shall not kill, turn the other cheek, etc.) I know that's George Washington would do. Let's just hope for a terrorist pretzel attack.

Your ill attempt at humor has failed. Go back to playing your video games.

I thought it was quite good, myself. Guess I'm not versed in Red-State humor, I'll brush up on my Nascar and Jeff Foxworthy for next time.

Jesus would tell you that mean people DON'T suck because you have to love everyone. So it's best that you take off that little "mean people suck" quote you have before you're damned to hell.
