I found this quite interesting:

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.

John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.

Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.

Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln 's secretary was named Kennedy.

Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln .

Both were assassinated by Southerners.

Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln , was born in 1808.

Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.



John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln , was born in 1839.

Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.



Both assassins were known by their three names.

Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'

Kennedy was shot in a car called ' Lincoln ' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.

Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe , Maryland

A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.
 
Holy Cow.

I think that I have read that before, but it's always mindblowing to go through all of those "coincidences".

:( i didn't want to rain on you. and, you're right, it is interesting. the skeptics/cynics of the world are only here to make sure we don't get too superstitious :ohwell:

i hadn't ever seen those facts listed like that before.
 
What is with people leaving their garbage cans out 2 days after the trash is collected so they can roll around the street. How lazy can you be? :mad:

oh, and they have their house number on them. I guess so they can find them after rolling around for 2 days or maybe we're supposed to bring them in for them. grrr....
 
it was 111 degrees two days ago and now it's 72 and rainy. what gives??????????????

Check with your town's code enforcement department -- it's likely you've got a law requiring residents to secure their trash within some time following collection day. In my town cans can't (legally) be on the curb before 5 pm day before collection, and can't (legally) remain on the curb after 5 pm day of collection.

Once you know the law, if a few friendly comments don't get appropriate response, you can get your municipality to help you out.

Thanks I wouldn't have thought of that I may do it if it continues. I sound like a crazy old lady but when you go to pull out of your driveway and have to stop and move their cans or they're in the middle of the road where you're trying to drive it's so annoying!

Side note to the others: Are those nuts roasted or raw?

You don't sound crazy at all. I know exactly what you mean. Our collection guys are pretty good about setting cans down upright, but especially on windy days, they blow over and start rolling (or blowing) down the street. Most people are pretty considerate about getting things put away, but we've got one lady who leaves the can out 5 days/week (it only comes back to her garage the day before collection day, I suppose so she can more easily put the new trash into it.) This is a lady who gets in her car and drives 50 feet down her driveway to get her mail from the mailbox, rather than walk the distance.
 
Work is so slow right now, I just want to get up and leave early for the holiday weekend...
 
If they are raw, we can always roast them for you Dan...;)

It's been a while since SpoofeeLand had a good nut roasting event....:p
