I choose a comps track instead of a thesis track. I would rather have the "pressure" of a 5 hour test than to have to write a thesis paper...

For my second masters I did that too. But even so, I had to write two chapters of the thesis. Only thing I got out of that was learning the van Hiele stage theory of geometric reasoning, which I suppose is pretty valuable for a maths teacher to know about, so I'm not really complaining. Our test was six hours, but three of it was math, so that's pretty easy. Piaget was pretty easy, too. Talking intelligently about the NCTM principles was the hard part.
