If they don't serve the maki right after making it, that happens a lot. The nori just soaks up the water, and becomes disgusting. That's one of my tests for sushi places -- do they let the maki sit, or do they serve them right away.
 
Theres a place here called Hana. The Crunchy Roll just seems to melt in your mouth. Ok, I know where Im taking my friend for her birthday dinner tomorrow.

I wonder if the nori is why I like maki better than nigiri...

Hey, monk, do you use kewpie (sp) mayo in your house?

Naw, we hate Kewpie. We use some low fat imitation mayo.
 
I made 12 dozen cookies, a batch of fudge, a batch of caramel and chocolate covered pretzels (with my four year old daughter) last night.

The good thing is that 90% of it went out the door as neighbor/friend gifts this evening.

Whew!

so I am the ONLY one here right now, ha ha got the place all to myself, my 5 year old little boy decided it's fun to get up at 5:30 in the morning, NOT! But it's even more fun when he wakes me up with him! gaurghhh, so of course what else would I be doing besides sleeping and breathing?

I think it was the Marketing Department in early Christianity that thought it up. They felt it would improve their conversion numbers. Seems to have worked, too.
 
Whew, finally got my folks' present. A 48,000 BTU 4-burner grill with side burner and 858sq" of cooing surface. I sure hope they like it; it was a good bit outside my budget.

My in laws have one of those squid, it is WAYYY nice, we love cooking out on it! GREAT pick!!!

Squid just got it so he could make sure he would have something to roast bob on, heck if I am not mistaken you can make bob jerky with one of those babys too!
 
Nah, monk. Theyre about to be done renovating their new house and I thought it would be appropriate.

Squirrel jerky? That sounds interesting. Ive had deer jerky and buffalo jerky, but never squirrel jerky. I'll have to ask Maw Maw about that.
