*ahem*We forgot to tell you that it was her ex-bf that she had sent to see you.....:o

You two are certainly living up to the "Odd Comment" thread title

Everything we needed to say was said with our eyes.

I think we need a :gag: emoticon.

we need a "not that there's anything wrong with that" emoticon

Ok, the prisoner just called me again! :mmph:

Am I being stalked?

I'm waiting until he calls me again and then forcing the prison to block him from calling me. If they don't do that, can I go to my local police and have them do something?

I'm NOT about to accept the charges to tell this guy to **** off....yesterday I thought it was just a mistake and didn't want him to get in trouble, but now I don't care what happens to him...just STOP CALLING ME!

(I would turn the ringer off my phone, but I'm waiting for a call that I really don't want to miss.)

It's called harassment. And yes, if you don't want him calling then make contact with the prison. They should do something about it. We can block specific numbers on our phones in the jail.

I called the prison yesterday and they told me they'd look into who was calling me, let him know he has the wrong number and block any prisoner from the jail calling me.
Obviously they haven't done that yet. I know it might take some time, but while the calls used to be once a week, they're now every day.

I'd call them again. Each time he calls, I'd let them know. If you do it immediately after the phone call, then they SHOULD know who is calling and using their prison phones.

I tried calling the prison again and now they're telling me they can't do anything about it unless I send a certified letter with my name, home number, the number I want blocked (my cell), and address.

I'm calling bull**** on this one, don't see why or how they need all that information to block the prisoners from calling me. I'm calling them from the number I want blocked so I don't see why they don't believe me.
If I get a call again I'm going straight to my local police station and filing official stalker/harassment charges.

Don't wait, do it now.
Then call the State Department of Corrections and file a complaint.

the odd thing is that im almost positive you cannot accept collect calls from a cell phone. so why does this person keep trying?

probably doesn't know it's a cell phone. How would they know?

The prisoner can ask his friend or relative to make a call and complete a kind of form or something that allows the cellphone to accept the incoming calls from a correctional institute. Not sure the process exactly, but it can be done.

The thing is that the person with the cell ohone would obviously know the person or else it wouldnt be added..

sccrbrs6, is this a new phone number that may have been recycled and the prisoner doesnt know that?

Dan, locally (for the most part) you can tell if its a cellphone just by the first three digits. Here, the prefixes 606, 957, 251, 638, 289 (and lots more) are cells. However with the new phone companies/cable companies/voip it is definitely harder to do so.

It's not that easy here, and with number portability, it's nearly impossible
