Final Price : Free + Make $108

Yeah like no consumer has ever been ripped off on a rebate??

:o :o :o :o :o :o

Probably 25% of rebates for which I know I met every requirement NEVER arrived, and they don't respond to messages inquiring about them either. Rebates are sneaky on both sides of the equation.

These kinds of deals just even things out. Besides, I don't think they're sneaky, just perhaps on the fringe of legitimacy.

Be sure to read the fine print

Fine print is probably the most important part of the rebate, just be sure to read it throughly. So far I have gotten all my rebates back since I started sending out rebates, totalling more than $500.

help with rebate!

Am i suppose to mail both rebates together or am i suppose to send the 2 separately. I am asking this because, both rebates are asking for the UPC barcodes and there is 2 but only 1 has the right barcode (32509051). Sorry for the newbie question but if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

:claps: I think psychologists refer to this as "rationalization." May you never be at the bottom of a loophole. :)

Actually, per the rebate forms... you can send in a copy of your confirmation email from CC. They definitely aren't smart enough to hack your email to change it if they wanted.

So, with forms and email in hand already, you probably don't need to even leave/return to the store. If you're picking it up, you probably could just fight them there and save waiting in line...

what if u dont buy it online and just buy it in the store ???

Now OOS in my locality, but a co-worker wants in. It has free shippping online. Does anyone know if CC.com will pricematch? Thanks!
i doubt it. same for calling their 1-800#, they'll tell you that you have to PM in store.

Re-read the rebate details. One of them requries a copy of the UPC. I beileve it is the CC rebate and not the Memorex, but am not 100%.

Alos, as the two rebates have 2 seperate mailing addresses, they cannot be mailed together. :)

I'm not sure where the "bottom of a loophole is", but yes, as I said, not getting 25% of my rebates I'd say I'd often caught in one.

That's why Kharma sometimes "loopholes" someone else..

Anyone tried this on the 1GB model?

I went to my local CC and they were out of the 512. I happened to see a 1GB model (last one) with no price tag above it. I took it up to the register and it rung up at $104.95, but the sales guy checked the specials and it was $10 off instantly and had $40 rebates. I bought it and brought back in the Staples flyer to get a pricematch at $54.94. (They started pricematching it to 29.94 but I pointed out that was the price for the 512 model and the 1 GB was in smaller print below. Honesty, y'know...) Didn't make money, but $10-$15 for the 1 gigger is great!

do they change the reciept or anything ?? cause u have to send in a copy of it to get the rebate ??????????????????????????????

When you purchase your item, you can ask the cashier for an extra copy of the receipt and squirrel one away in your car from the Sircuit Sity Secret Service. Walk up to CS with the extra receipt and let them mark on that one all they want or tell them to "shove it up you know where suckas!!!" You still have your pristine copy waiting for you out in your car just waiting to be mailed off for a rebate.

gr8 deal

Experience in Phoenix AZ.

CS dept first denied Price match. Reason that item number is not same on staples printout. but then there was a slash and the no on it was matching... so finally CS agreed. :o got PM. First successful PM. :bigok: but long line wait in CC :banghead:
Now waiting for rebate. One rebate can be seen on www.rebateHQ.com (mail portion not received yet)

No problem at the CC in Westland, MI. I do agree however that the long lines are annoying... I didn't bother going out to my car to drop off the receipts. I waited til the cashier was done, and simply said "oh, are you done? I have a price match on that..." No questions - no bad looks... she just redid it while i held on to my receipt (just in case the email copy doesn't work...)

What a great deal! With $8, i can afford to buy 2 gallons of gas and something off the $1 menu at McDonalds....

Just went over to Bestbuy today, no problems at all with Staples ad. Went to check out counter first, then went directly to CS, and got the PM like that.
Cool deal!!

REALLY sucks not having a Staples or Fry's within a few hundred mile radius.

Just filled out the rebate forms. However, I was wondering if the rebate people will be able to tell the actual price paid, since there is a CC barcode on every reciept I have to send in. In the form it stated that if PM is done, the rebate amount might be reduced.. But then again, I saw that it asks me to circle the price of item purchased, which is listed as 59.99 on the rebate reciept. Hopefully they will just go by the reciept and not have to use the barcode to check the actual price.

nice~

Yea, does anyone have any experience with this? I'm wondering if I should return mine... :hmm:

Possibly, but not sure.

I ordered mine online for instore pick-up. My email confirmation for the purchase is my receipt, which has no barecode.

Didn't think of that, but the CC associate told me that it doesn't matter how much you paid, you will still get the rebate amount.

We'll see. Neither of my rebates is showing up online yet.
