Another suggestion, what do you think?

With regards to question 4, it's definitely a harder question so the answer is probably not one of the obvious answers such as Cali or Arizona. I have a thought. Let me know what you think.

Death Valley National park is mainly in Cali, but does cross over the border into Nevada if you look closely on a map.

If you look at Grand Canyon National Park in wiki, it says:
Grand Canyon National Park is one of the United States' oldest national parks and is located in Arizona. Within the park lies the Grand Canyon, a gorge of the Colorado River, considered to be one of the major natural wonders of the world. The park covers 1,902 mi2 (4927 km2) of unincorporated area in Coconino County and Mohave County.
Most visitors to the park come to the South Rim, arriving on Arizona State Route 64. The Highway enters the park through the South Entrance, near Tusayan, Arizona, and heads eastward, leaving the park through the East Entrance. All park accommodations are operated by the Xanterra corporation. Park headquarters are at Grand Canyon Village, a short distance from the South Entrance, being also the center of the most popular viewpoints. Some thirty miles of the South Rim are accessible by road. A much smaller venue for tourists is found on the North Rim, accessed by Arizona State Route 67. There is no road connection between the two within Arizona except via the Navajo Bridge, near Page, Arizona, entailing a five-hour drive. Otherwise, the two rims of the Canyon are connected via Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Hoover Dam.

Also, as someone previously posted, the clue doesn't say they are located within the state, it says you can see them in the state.

There is a portion of Route 66 that comes right up to the Southern tip of the Nevada Border. While it doesn't cross into Nevada, it comes pretty close.

Similarly, Yosemite Falls is only about 30 - 35 miles from the Nevada border. It is so tall and the area around it so flat, that you could probably see it from within Nevada.

I'm still working on the Overland Trail issue. I ran out of time to find a connection today, but if someone else could tie it to Nevada, I think it might be the correct answer.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Please reread the question is does not say The Grand Canyon it says Grand Canyon a play on words.

I wonder if they might be roads, streets, lanes, etc... if so all those can be found in Texas.

I'm on a one-woman team.
I have Question #1 correct, #2 correct & #5 correct I'm stumped on #3 and #4
Any help and I can help out on the other 3 answers.

Thanks in advance

Hey. I started a team for another group, but they don't want to bother with this since they think it helps support big tobacco. My team code is 0917BC566.

As for answers, I'll get back to you. I am going to make a surprise breakfast for my GF.

Do these have to be answered all at once..or can we do # 1 & #2...then return the next day to answer the rest? Just want to make sure as I don't know the answers to 4 or 5 yet...

TerriLeigh58, the whole idea of this thread is we are all helping each other out

I was wondering the same thing and no one answered me so I just went for it...I answered 2 of them a couple of days ago and 2 yesterday...I still need to go back and answer # 5 so....yes you can go in and answer at different times...bit once you hit the submit button on a question it is locked in for you so make sure you really really want that answer before you hit the submit button

Here's a link to an image clearly showing the Overland Trail running through Nevada: http://elkmountainhotel.com/images/pageImages/OregonCaliforniaTrailsMap.jpg

Also, the Overland Trail wiki mentions it being in Nevada in the early history part.

I am still not so sure though. I looked at each of these landmarks on a map and California seems the be the easy answer except for Grand Canyon. However, that could refer to something besides The Grand Canyon like someone else said. There does not seem to be a Grand Canyon town in CA. Nevada could be it.

Lastly, they could be jerks and mean a state of being rather than a state in the Union.

Thanks, Psycho...for letting me know. Didn't wanna start something if I had to do it all in one shot!!

:blushing:
I am an innocent lil butterfly.

question 4-can anyone read the printing on the bottom of the map for question 4?
It's illegible for me when I try to enlarge. There are words, but can't make any of them out? "Shed some light".

the "shed some light for us". you could you a flashlight, it could mean enlight us. This is really hard. here is something The state motto of California is "Eureka...I have found it". Does this refer to the 'shed some light for us?"

John Muir, the founder of the Sierra Club, said that the Sierra Nevada Mountains should have been called the "Range of Light

then there is this

Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne River in Yosemite Nat'l Park

I know that that the Overland Trail ended in Cali, and the Falls are definately in Cali..so I answered that..tried not to talk myself out of it. As for #5 I thought it may be New York and San Fran because that was the day that the Transcontintal Railroad was supposed finished and there was a big hoopla about it..however it actually didn't connect the two cities..just Omaha (which is in Douglas County) and Sacramento were connected by the event. I almost put Omaha and Sacramento but then changed it to NY and San Fran because they are "oceans" apart..I think I got the first three right. I did the math on the darts and came up with 19/17 and 17/20. anyway anyone think I'm on the right track speak up..
Put true on #1 and Continental Club on the other one (pretty sure on those two)
