Marlboro Outwit The West

Look what I found:
5. Because no railroad bridge yet existed over the Missouri River [wikipedia.org] between Council Bluffs, Iowa [wikipedia.org] and Omaha, Nebraska [wikipedia.org], passengers were required to cross the river by boat until 1872.

Hi Guys and Gals, I know I haven't been contributing all that much but I have been doing some investigating and going over everyone's answers and here's what I think (for what it's worth). I answered #1. True 2. Continental Club (now i'm wondering if I should of replied The Continental Club too late now). 3. Everyone is saying Triple 19-Double 17 and Triple 17-Double 20 except that's not an option for the answer. Someone said Triple 5-Double 5 and the second answer would be the same but for some reason that doesn't seem right, that doesn't mean it isn't but I have asked for some outside help with this one so let's see if I get it. 4. The comment "Happy Enchilada" made yesterday makes sense to me, what does anyone else think? As for #5. Council Bluffs, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska sounds good especially since someone said Omaha is in Douglas County but.....what does "What two "BURGS" seemed.." have to do with that particular answer? Any help would be very much appreciated since I would really love that computer that I saw in the prizes. Thanks for the help y'all. This is fun.

hey y'all~ i think its texas. Its the LOne star state, see them all in a single state. texas has all of the names as roads. the only state that has all 5 of those landmarks as street names, the marsa lights in texas. shed some light on it... and the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of texas. i think its TEXAS baby!!

#2: What's the name on this 50-something's neon

I believe The should be used, it's the name on the sign/neon, not just the name of the place??

If you look the club up and look at the sign at the site it is "THE Continental CLUB" and the clue is almost word for word in a description of the club at the site....but I am really thinking the answer will have the words "THE" & "CLUB" capitalized because that is how it is on the neon sign

http://www.continentalclub.com/

also look under the Austin site and the "our history" reads just like the clue

Well to throw a bit more confusion in the mix I found this during a web search
I was discussing it with my husband, he immdiately said 'ALASKA'. I told him that that was the 2nd time I heard that, how does that make sense? He explained to me how the question is stated, that they could be SEEN in one state, not that they ARE in the same state, ALASKA is like 1/3 of the U.S., therefore if you put ALASKA over the map of the U.S. You would be able to see all those sights in the same state!
THis could explain the shed some light quote in the sentence as Alaska is home of the Northern Lights

More confusion here! Grand Canyon, Brea, CA - Google Search Grand Canyon road Brea California
http://www.google.com/search?q=over...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Overland Trail road Helendale Ca.And of course the others are in California. A play on words or is alaska what they are looking for?
But also Ansel Adams was a photographer who took western photos and would have photographed all these places and his work is exhibited at his studio in Yosemite which could also make the answer California.

I already made reference to this a couple of pages back.

we'll great minds think alike. were not the only ones who figured this out though.

Anyone else get the book in the mail from Marlboro Outwit the West, to get the free gold keychain. Hint the Answer to #10 is A Wild Bill Hickok.

My first post

Hi all, I have been reading for a few days and am enjoying this forum very much.
I'm satisfied with my answers to #1,2 and 3. #4 I am stumped:ack: on(apparently not alone here) but am leaning toward Calif.
On #5 I believe the answer is probably Omaha and Council Bluffs. Though not separated by an ocean they might as well have been on that date as the Missouri River runs between them and no bridge at that time. Now to confuse the issue: I found that Council Bluffs was once named Bluffsburg BUT can not find anything like this for Omaha. Comments anyone?

Hi Cowboy229, If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is your answer to #3 out of the choices that we have to pick from? Thanks for the help.

Obie, double bull is 50. That leaves 91 points. Hope that helps.

week one's questions are still up but week two is now up two w/ questions 6-10! time to get busy this is going to be hard!

and wait until you get a look at questions 6-10 ... they are going to need to send out samples of valium & smokes before this is done.

That's all???????????????? i'm going to have to double up on my valium and percuset! LOL
i've looked at them ..going to have to go and do some research tomorrow to figure them out. while questions 1-5 have till end of week i will tell you that questions 6-10 are good for only 1 week! So let's try and work these through together! Thanks for any and all help!

Lil Obie...
"3. Everyone is saying Triple 19-Double 17 and Triple 17-Double 20 except that's not an option for the answer"

Change the order they are entered..
Triple 17 + Double 20 and
Triple 19 + Double 17
they both come up to 91 points + the 50 for double bulls eye = 141 and the options are there.

Here are my answers:

9a. Missouri River (Boonville Bridge)
9b. Columbia River
9c. Arkansas River (Royal Gorge Bridge)
9d. Colorado River (Navajo Bridge)
