Marlboro Outwit The West

Anyway I can get in on the PMs as well?
I'm didn't do so hot on the clues..

Or is there going to be a way we all share the answers?
Maybe something can be set up where all the leaders share the answers among one another and then PM their members too?

sounds like a good idea for all the team leaders to pm each other and then we can put it out to all the members. this way we don't get pm crazy! :)

DON'T FORGET THIS STARTS TOMORROW OR AT MIDNITE EDT! :)

I logged on late last night and it lets you vote on the answers and put the percentage (0-100%) that you think you are right. I think that then the team leader then inputs what the team votes to be the answers (I could be wrong because I'm not a team leader). I was confident in all but the last question. Go TeamSpoofee2!

Clue 1

The world's first purpose-built commercial spaceport has broken ground in the Land of Enchantment.

Answer: True or False

Clue 2

First, it was a supper club.
Then, a burlesque club.
These days, it's a country club-occasionally.
What's the name on this famous 50-something's neon set in a town known for tunes?

Clue 3

Carl can close out the game with his next turn...If his last throw is a double bull-eyes,
what two possible combinations could he use to win with

Answer Combination 1
Triple-1 + Double-1
Triple-2 + Double-2
Triple-3 + Double-3
Triple-4 + Double-4
Triple-5 + Double-5

Combination 2

Triple-1 + Double-1
Triple-2 + Double-2
Triple-3 + Double-3
Triple-4 + Double-4

Clue 4

Listen to this clue.
There's Death Valley, Grand Canyon, Overland Trail, Yosemite Falls even Route 66.
Sure there all found on a map but it's possible to see then all in a single state.
Shed some light for us.

Which state?

Clue 5

On the fabled tenth of May, there was much hoopla and hooray, but it was all a bluff.
Because even with the Douglas folks and the Council celebrating, a body of water still separated them.
What two burgs still seemed oceans apart?

I think we need to be careful on #4 - I think it's a trick question. I don't think CA is the right answer.

Ok Spoofee Team 1 - Kim, Cathy Frader... I need you all to go in and submit what you think the correct answers are...

Answers

Hi Everyone. What do you think of these answers so far?

1. True
2. The Continental Club
3.
4. California
5. Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa

I thought the answer to number 4 was the state of confusion, but it wasn't listed.

craziecatlady:

The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne is the portion of the valley of the Tuolumne River in Yosemite National Park, USA. As defined by the United States Geological Survey, it begins immediately below Tuolumne Meadows and ends immediately above Hetch Hetchy Valley

So, I do believe CA is the answer to #4

If you look at the actual neon sign for Continental Club, it is THE Continental CLUB...and since they specifically mentioned the neon sign, should it be entered that way?

Welcome to the Continental Club

Also, for Omaha and Council Bluffs, should it be typed as Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA?

Maybe it won't make a difference, but I would hate for anyone being disqualified for something as simple as that!

Clue 3

A double bull, is worh 50 points, so the answer would be Combo1 would be a Triple-5 + Double-5 and Como2 would be the same. 25+25=50
Thats my take

Just wanted to check to be sure before I entered anything. Do we all enter when we log in or just our captain? Or does is matter?

no it does not matter, just any one person of the team. The only one I do not know for sure is #3, please remember to captialize all proper words, and make sure your spelling is correct. Also please remember you have 2 weeks to answer the first round of questions. After that you have 1 week to submit your answers

#5 Discussion

The Transcontinental Railroad

he Central Pacific laid 690 miles (1,110 km) of track, starting in Sacramento, California, and the Union Pacific laid 1,087 miles (1,749 km) of track, starting in Omaha, Nebraska. The two lines connected at Promontory Summit, Utah.

Where was everyone else coming up with their answer of Nebraska and Iowa
