Marlboro Outwit The West

Good luck to all of you hoping to get more points. I did get another 50 on both our accounts.
 
No it was not from the tie breaker, it was from previous weeks answers according to Marlboro human resource rep.
 
I called the number 1-800-627-5267 spoke to a rep Larewance he adviced would send the information to the judges to review i adviced him I had 1350 points on 12-16-10 and redeemed them and the got 50 points overnight showing a balance of 50. I adviced I needed to cancel order that totled 1350 and have 1400 so I could redeem for the camera he told me he would note my account and I should see my points back by 1-11-11. I figure I will call daily until they fix it as 1-11-11 is the final day to redeem. So I believe if everyone starts calling and complaining they will give us back our points so we can redeem for what we really wanted.
 
Yes! 1-11-11 is the cut off to submit prizes. Good for you, that your possibly able to change prizes. I am still waiting to find out. Good luck!!
 
I'm not messing with mine...I got what I wanted
BUT
For everyone that is calling in, a point I noticed the night everyone was ordering was there was/is a big line in the middle of the page that says *FINAL POINTS have been added* I remember noticing that because they have been adding points late almost every week of this thing...so I thought it must be safe to order or they wouldn't have put that all the points had been added...it is still there and it was there at 12:01 thurday morning...just something I would be bringing up to them if I was calling in....good luck everyone...
 
I have 125 points left on mine I don't want coupons. I cant complain because I did get the netbook and on hubbys and moms account they both got a camera and an order of beef jerky (4 bags in all) Moms camera aready arrived and it is SWEEEEEEET!
even if they traded the jerky back in they only have 100 points so they wouldn't be able to get the glasses anyway. I am satisfied with what we all got. Good luck to those that are trying to get a better item.
 
Please try to remember that free is always the best. All it took was your time, the prizes where free with free shipping. What more could anyone want!!!!!!!!!!!:yesnod:
 
I here what your saying about free is free, but we all worked hard to get the prize we wanted and if we fell short that would be one thing, but it is was Marlboro that fell short a couple of times during the contest. So, they should correct the problem!!!!! Yes! I want my netbook! Our team earned it!!
 
I also sent a E-mail to there parent company PhilipMorris telling them I believe they need to fix this problem with points or I would tell all my friends and family as to how they run there contest to there advantage. You can go to ther web site by clicking on the link on the bottom of the contest page maybe if we all E-mail and call they will fix it as they don't need the bad publicity as word of mouth is the worst kind of publicity.
 
Yea we got the 50points it's a good thing my wife & daughter waited to order . now they just ordered the camera . I hope all that ordered a lesser prize then got the points complain.
 
I just recieved a call back from a Marlboro rep. (very nice and helpful lady) each team member needs to call in and explain what happened and they will try to fix the problem. They are forwarding all info. to the human resource department. They also know that they had a problem and it was from weeks ago and that this problem could in fact effect someone in winning the grand prize or other cash prizes. The number is 1-800-627-5267 when you get the prompts the first one will be #1 for Marlboro cigs. and when the next promt comes up saying Outwit the West select #0 this will bring you to a rep.. If you select Outwit the West you won't get through to them. Just remember you catch more bees with honey!!

Please remember... Marlboro does not need to do these promotions, it wouldn't hurt them at all to quit doing them. I really doubt the problem w/ the points delay was intentional.. ck into the problems other companies have doing their online promotions.. and Marlboro's is one of the biggest..
Calling and requesting to change prizes if your points were changed is one thing.. and I suggested to do that.. but if the majority of people start getting nasty, it's more likely they will say the h@ll with it, tell everyone no and possibly drop the promotions.
Nobody wins that way. I've benefitted from their promotions for over 2 decades. I'd like to continue. PLEASE be polite to the people you contact.. Thanks.
 
Glad to see Marlboro is doing this, I have been a shareholder in Altria (Phillip Morris America) since before the stock broke up several years ago and have benefited by their splits Phillip Morris International as well as Kraft Foods. Anytime I call in with a problem I tell the rep I hold stock positions in the company and they literally bend over backwards to help me out. Guess my dividend payments would be larger if they stopped the promotions but what the heck I like the "free stuff" too:) Got the extra 50 points also but was still 50 points shy of the netbook. I will be happy with my camera:) it was free after all:)
 
How many points did you guys end up with all together? We ended up with 1725.

I am sorry that you may have had a problem with your points, but I really don't think bad publicity would effect their bottom line. Maybe I would feel differently if I wasn't able to get everything I wanted but I also believe that the company will try to make right their wrongs. Good luck with your problem and everyone else that had the same problem.

just wanted to thank everyone i was lucky to be able to join a great team.i had 1725 points and got the laptop.my son joined a team that all dropped out during the 2nd week including the capt. so none of his answers got added in.he ended up with 56 points. but all is great we are happy with the one notebook and want to thank everyone again for all the help there was no way we would have gotten it otherwise :)
 
Our team is getting the netbooks!! Marlboro called and changed our order!!! Very excited!!!

I agree. I have gotten so many free items from Marlboro over the years I have lost count. 3 - $125 swiss army watches, tents, sleeping bags, inflatable kayaks, a pair of $170 cowboy boots (2 weeks before outwit the west started) and now 4 netbooks. I would hate for them to decide its not worth the agravation.
