Well, I thought for sure that I would be without internet service due to a ice storm in my area and I would not be able to get the netbook but everything went well and the netbook and coupons are claimed !!! Woo Hooo !!!!!

anyone who hasn't ordered their prize yet .. you might want to wait.. news is coming from other forums more points have been added to accounts since noon today.... don't know when that will finish up..
So if you are close in points to what you wanted.. wait to see if you got enough. My sister just emailed me we had 50 more pts added since early this am..

those who were really close but didn't hit the level they needed so ordered something else today.. then find more points are on your acct. you might want to call Marlboro & see if order can be canceled, and if you can order what you really wanted.
 
I was at 1500 spent it and now there is 50 pts in there like pp said....if more is there in am, I will call them to see if I can cancel the camera to get the notebook...if not, I will leave it alone...thanks for letting us know!
 
people are reporting they are getting prize orders changed if more points have been added to their acct....

If it was me I would wait to reorder even if you cancel the current prize incase they are still adding points.

I spoke to Marlboro tonight and the customer rep. was pretty rude, she said once points were redeemed you cannot change the order "NO REASON"!! Read the RULES!!! I'll call back tomorrow and hopefully get someone with a slightly better attitude. Hopefully they will correct the problem.

Thanks everyone on Players Besting Playas, We didn't get enough for the camera (damnit) even but i did enjoy playing Thanks to everyone on here who helped out. i wish that'd give us the 40 some points for the camera i had my eyes set on that zoom! lol
 
I'm so glad I check Spoofee before I ordered anything! I was 50 points shy of the netbook....I checked again last night and BAM! Just enough for the netbook! Hooray! That is going to make an excellent gift.

I called and after selecting 1 (marlboro cigarettes), then "promotions", and then 2 "no promotional code", 1 "outwit the west" they just had an automated message saying they aren't accepting calls about it. In short, pick another option and see if you get a human.

I'm sorry I know these prizes were free, but they cannot do this and get away with it. I actually thought about this situation happening last month with the points being added after the fact everyone had already ordered something, just so they could make up some excuse after members already ordered a prize. These points being added after everyone ordered something they probably didn't want was a plan MARLBORO thought of way in advance, they planned this, because they knew majority of people were gonna order prize as soon as they could with the fear of them running out of prizes. They did this on purpose, they with held points , then added the extra points after it was to late for us to do anything about it. This is not how you run a Contest, this is illegal , and if you think about it this saved MARLBORO alot of money because we ordered lets say the camera instead of computer why? Because we were 50points short, ANY PETITIONS OUT THERE???
 
The mysterious add on of points is big talk on the web and some are saying Marlboro is changing prize request because of their screw up. I have spoke with them twice, once last night and once this morning and all has been turned over to human resources. As of yet, I have no word on if they will fix this or not, but they did tell me that they would contact me back by Monday and if not call them back Tuesday. I think all that want to change their prize should contact them, the more people that do complain might help, no company wants this much bad publicity.
 
Also, the person that I spoke to said that these points could be from weeks ago, not the last week of the contest. They have had a multitude of problems with contest. She didn't get into depth about what the problems were, other than they do know they did have problems with whomever was running the contest.
