Marlboro Outwit The West

I am stuck on 13, someone said Longs Peak but that doesn't seem to fit all the clues, it does fit some as does the Colorado quarter but as far as I can tell neither fits all of them and with everything I have researched I am still stumped. As for 15 I am going to stick with Gordy because they are asking for the nickname.

check posts by Spaz & replies... post #s 307,310,316 & 317 in this thread.. all parts of the clue are covered... hope that helps.

Ok.. have been doing way too many searches on #14 .. even checked another board.. even though that was mainly for kicks since they put all their info in a Google doc. then got upset other people were looking at it. Just makes me love Spoofee people more & more ... anyway.
Seems most of that board is pushing for a convoluted way of coming up with Roosevelt..:nonod: but there was one mention of Crazy Horse... and poster Eagle222 [thank you] had Chief .. no explanations... didn't notice alwaysplatinum's post here until today [sorry about that]

So.. granted do need to read the clue again to see if this fits right..
1st part.. title/man on a beast.. Chief Crazy Horse [Memorial] not sure if what's the name would be Chief or CrazyHorse?? I'm thinking Chief
2nd part.. 1 more by 3 that ended the same ... [Mount Rushmore] Lincoln is not next 2 but by.. close to the other 3 presidents .. and "The President shall be 'Commander in Chief' of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States"
not really relevant but CrazyHorse died while Chief & so did Lincoln, neither by natural causes or illness. I'm starting to think Chief ?? maybe??

Anybody have a feeling one way or another on this ????

Is anyone sure if question 13 is Long's Peak or Longs Peak? I am torn even with all the research.

Shouldn't #15 be (Challenge)100-Mile One-Day Ride, (Nickname) Tevis Cup, and (Year) 1974 ? Someone posted an article that said Tevis Cup was the nickname of the 100-Mile One-Day Ride. I'm new to this website so hope I'm not intruding.

long time lurker, first time poster :)

I think the answer to number 11 is WOULD YOU LIKE RED OR GREEN CHILI SAUCE This is the question asked in every restaurant in New Mexico when a dish that comes with sauce is ordered. Christmas means mix red and green

question 11

I can't edit my post because it hasn't been approved yet..... but I'm wrong and you're right :) wiki lists New Mexico state symbols and RED OR GREEN is the state question........ ignore me

Miser I don't think anyone will consider it intruding.. it's bouncing ideas and asking for more info or "proof" that gets the best answers.... I for one need all the help I can get.

But if you listen to the clue again.. I had to several times.. it asks what is this challenge popularly called; what is the soloists nickname; and what year did he complete this feat...
only thing is the 100 mile 1day rides' website has it listed as both Tevis Cup & Tevis Cup Ride .. so I don't know which would be best

Directly from the Tevis Cup website:
Founded on a bet in 1955 by one of Auburn's prominant [sic] citizens, Wendell T. Robie, modern-day endurance riding began with what now is called the "TEVIS CUP."

Time Magazine also calls it the "Tevis Cup" which should be an indication of its popularity.

And remember: save a horse, ride a moderator.

About the Tevis Cup Ride

The Western States Trail Ride, popularly called the Tevis Cup Ride, is the oldest modern day endurance ride, having been held annually since 1955. As such, it has been the inspiration and model for the most challenging endurance rides worldwide

my sisters pointed out it asks specifically for what it is popularly called..she sent the page links to each page on the Tevis Cup site.1 has ride one doesn't. but the one Tazz has posted is the only place they say popularly called...
