I put Gordy Ainsleigh on # 15 The dict. said he was better known as Gordy Ainsleigh .
Brain totaly fried on #14 , any one with an answer with a good reason ?

Hows :No Name , A horse with no name & Clint Eastwoods A man with no name trilogy . It works with the west.

Leapin Lizards now has 245 points & so does my hubby's team!!

i got 195 points, havent done any of this weeks ? yet ,, whats sum of your ways of figureing out these clues ? ,, so far ive just been googling parts or the whole clue.& so far this site has been best place to get the answers . but if i do come up with sumthing i will post it , i want to help tooo

Tom Dooley was done by the Kingston Trio and was a #1 hit.
The Kingston Trio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is a race horse named Grand Dooley who came in first place this year in July CD Mcl (7/11/2010-R3) - Grand Dooley - Winner, Results, Probables and News - Horse Racing Nation
So I don't think the answer is Tom Dooley ... but am not sure if it would be just Dooley or Grand Dooley from the way the clue is prased..

I believe the answer is Grand Dooley.

Looking at the question is reads:

"2 number one titles, decades apart:
1 by a man on a beast by this name,
1 more by 3 that ended the same.

What's the name?"

The question just wants to fill in the part "beast by this name" with the name of the beast. iokijo's post makes the most sense absolutely. Grand Dooley came in first this year and the Kingston Trio had their #1 hit decades prior.

I'm submitting Grand Dooley right now.

Gohan32 .. if you haven't submitted that yet I would just vote on it for now... I'm waiting until the last min. to submit in case anybody has any other suggestions of something better...
My sister did find a mention of a rodeo horse Tom Dooley, but the rider tide for first place and it wasn't a title competition.. I think for rodeo stuff it would have to be champion or similar to qualify as a title.
might have another option.. but haven't found a match for the first part.. need a horse or bull etc that has Sanders in it's name ??

I have 160 points....has anyone heard of another having more than that? Im not sure how to determine how many I missed...?

I don't think anyone has posted a higher number for week one.. but there is no way to tell if that is the max. that could have been gotten.
If you answer all 5 right or wrong, you will get 10 pts ... after that questions are worth 25, 50 or 75 pts depending on difficulty determined by Marlboro. There is no way to tell how much any given question is worth.

As for "Dooley" I knew the song but my sister found these..

This makes alot of sense to me....and really seems to fit the clue perfectly...since the clue is asking for a certain one (man on a beast) and one that ends the same...now I am really leaning towards Grand Dooley...seems like I change my mind everytime I turn around but I am really liking this answer...after all the looking and research I find one I like right here at spoofee with one of my buds!:loving:

I have nyquil if anyone is interested...started feelinmg like I had the cruddies last night...

Our team has 245 points and I have not submitted any of this weeks answers yet.

If I wasn't allergic to alcohol I'd take you up on it in a heartbeat.. just for the alcohol content..lol these questions are sure to drive you to drink..

iphycho2 ... how do they fit the #1 requirement .. I can see the song if it hit #1, but the movies would have to hit highest grossing or best picture or something..
that's where I get stuck on any other leads...

found a horse drill team from Texas that hit Campion w/ 3 people on it w/ the last name Sanders.... & a Rodeo rider that hit first place.. on a horse named Colonel Sanders. but it was a woman .. so shot that to h@ll .. couldn't find anything on rodeo bulls and didn't think they had teams in Chili competitions.. lol
I bet the people at Marlboro who are coming up with these are laughing their asses off..

Has anyone heard of another person having over 160 points? I have 160 and dont know how to guage that....anyone know how many are possible up to this point?

nice post over at Slick D's ... I think the "Kings of the Cowboys" is a stretch, but you might have something with Roy Cooper.

I am stuck on 13, someone said Longs Peak but that doesn't seem to fit all the clues, it does fit some as does the Colorado quarter but as far as I can tell neither fits all of them and with everything I have researched I am still stumped. As for 15 I am going to stick with Gordy because they are asking for the nickname.

Obie. what clues do you feel don't fit Longs Peak??
