Hope this helps.. :)

bummer

I don't know where I went wrong but only got 10 pts for the 2 weeks

Ok can anyone explain how they got Tom Dooley instead of just Dooley for Question 14???????? I'm lost on that one..other then that i agree the answers should be
11- RED OR GREEN
12 caldera
13-Longs Peak
14-?????????????????
15- Tevis Cup, Gordy, 1974 but i'm also wondering if maybe the Tevis Cup is the nickname for the Endurance Cup???????? I'm a bit confused but everyone is leaning this way: Tevis Cup , Nickname : Gordy (can someone explain Gordy as the nickname to me?) and I agree it is in 1974

go to the link I just posted...its on the first part of the first page...

I didnt see tevis cup but I might have missed it...does anyone read these posts?

14 seems to be the tough one.. I have researched a ton.. It seems like everyone is on the songs path... What if it isn't that?? Today at work, the lunch discussion was (without internet) that it could be like Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore. Not sure on the number one titles yet though... I'm still looking!

So, to whoever got Tom Dooley, l am not sure about that one. On the million threads that I have read today I haven't seen that one too many times. Not that I don't think it's right, I just like to research them too... Any reasoning on that would be awesome!! :)

Tevis cup is the nickname they go by so i went and listened to the question again and it says what is it most known by and everywhere you read it says Tevis cup

Good grief, #14 is a HARD one. Anybody get anywhere with this one?

Oh, and for the record, I don't think that 14 has anything to do with music. I think I am on to something here. I'll post when I am sure.

I am leaning towards Tom Dooley also on # 14...all the facts seem to line up....I keep saying I am goin to sleep but I keep looking for answers!! ugh...

Dooley - in 1958 the Kingston TRIO (that would be the 3 with the same name) had the #1 hit Tom Dooley. On July 10, 2010 the horse Grand Dooley won the Churchill Downs, being the riden by a man with a beast with the same name.

also

here is a connection to Tom Dooley
This guy tied for the championship

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the crowd cheered louder and louder, Buck Lunak felt his bronco jump higher and buck harder, but the 22-year-old cowboy wasn’t going anywhere.

Lunak made his Eugene Pro Rodeo debut a memorable one on Saturday, turning in an acrobatic ride atop a horse named Tom Dooley as the bronco thrashed wildly and the crowd roared its approval. When the dust settled and Lunak scurried to safety, his score of 78 points was enough to win the bareback competition on the third and final day of rodeo events at the Oregon Horse Center.

“He seemed to get higher as the crowd screamed louder,” said Lunak, from Cut Bank, Mont. “That’s the best feeling in the world, by far. That’s why I do it.”

I dunno if this has anything to do with anything ....just another obscure refrence...

So would the answer to #11 be RED OR GREEN or RED, GREEN OR CHRISTMAS?
On the left side there under the pic of my dog, where it says "Thanked: 0", i'm not really sure how to officially thank someone but I thank all of you that help with the Marlboro contest and all that post the Freebees because I really don't know where you all get them from. And if I did find one i'm not sure if I could post it correctly.
SO thanks to you all.

Obie .. it would be ... "RED OR GREEN?" that is what is listed as the state question.

as for "thanking" only the original poster can be thanked.. there is a button on the left bottom of the post.. you just click it. You can add 2 a persons reputation, but I don't think it shows up on the Thanked ... that is done by clicking the star at the bottom left, you can add a comment to that one.
Posting a clue/answer .. you do just like you've done your comments... It's only different if you want to start a new "thread"/post like a new giveaway you found.. with those do a search first.. top right to make sure not already posted... then hit thread tools in the catagory you want.. ie freebies, coupons etc. click post a new thread.

As for "Dooley" I knew the song but my sister found these..

Tom Dooley was done by the Kingston Trio and was a #1 hit.
The Kingston Trio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is a race horse named Grand Dooley who came in first place this year in July CD Mcl (7/11/2010-R3) - Grand Dooley - Winner, Results, Probables and News - Horse Racing Nation
So I don't think the answer is Tom Dooley ... but am not sure if it would be just Dooley or Grand Dooley from the way the clue is prased..

Regarding #14 -

The way the question is worded, you need ONE answer that fits both parts, so I don't think it's Dooley.

On another site, someone posted "Takin' Care of Business" as the answer - which makes TOTAL sense!

Question:
2 number one titles, decades apart; 1 by a man on a beast by this name, 1 more by 3 that ended the same. What’s the name?

In 1989, a bull named Takin' Care of Business killed a man named Lane Frost, meaning one title on a beast by this name.

In 1973, a song was released called Takin' Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. There were 4 members to this group 3 of the 4 members' last name is Bachman, meaning one more title by three that ended the same.

Anyone have any thoughts?

so is it Takin' Care of Business? and also put by Bachman-Turner Overdrive? makes a lot of sense.

Not sure how you are connecting the title to Lane Frost and Takin care of Business.
Lane Frost did not win a title the day he rode that bull. I am going to do more checking to see if he had one a title another time when he rode that bull.

I don't think that works becaues it says 2 number one titles - 1 by a man on a beast - if a bull killed a man...the man isn't on him. Also - whats the number one title there?

I am leaning towards Tom Dooley in agreement with psychobutterfly because the bronco guy makes sense because it was decades (emphasis on the s at the end of the word). The taking care of business angle is only a decade apart and there was no titles won.
And by the way, thanks iokijo

Don't lock that in just yet...this game has me grasping for straws and stuff...I used to think I was pretty good it researching stuff but during this marlboro crap my confidence has been shaken a bit...we all still have a couple of days to try to figure this out...tom dooley was the closest I have come across so far though! :)

Psycho, we have 2 different answers for #15. Which are we gonna go with?

And, the answer isn't Tom Dooley, atleast I don't think it is.

I dunno Babs...I will look at it again after while...I cant remember what I put and I need to get a shower and run to the store before it gets too late....have all the members of our team chimed in? I'll PM ya after while.... :)
