Free ringtones for Verizon Wireless customer

I have a Motorola E815 and I am not able to play the download when I email it to myself @vzwpix.com. Even trying to upload it from their site: http://getitnow-origin.vzwshop.com/getpixflix.main.do I get an error.

This phone has many capabilities that Verizon has blocked including bluetooth file transfers. Hopefully someone has an answer on this...

I have the same problem. The file is sitting in my INBOX on my phone but can't load that file. I am using the same phone E815. Please let me know if anyone knows the solution.
Thanks.

if it keeps playing right away, go to your your documents and settings folder then \Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files. You should find the files in this folder as mpeg's

How do you change the mp3 file to mid file. Do you simply rename it with .mid appended to it?

I picked up a data cable off ebay a little while back, but it looks like they require you to buy the software to actually use it on my phone. (Kyocera Slider) Sending it to the phone via email wants me to subscribe to a $5.00 a month service!

I have the Kyocera Slider and it blows!! I need a new phone bad, just waiting until my 2 year renew thing comes up.

I am getting a bad file type error when I try to upload to vzwpix.com. I am saving it as an mp3 then changing the extention to .mid. It does not like that. What should I do

I also have the Motorola E815 and am having the same problem. I hope someone can figure out how we can download the files to our phones.

For those of you with the Motorola E815, I use this method described on Howard's Forums:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=674803&page=1&pp=15

I got the cable from ebay. The number is: SKN6311B. The person I got it from was "oem_wireless".
Here is a link on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/MOTOROLA-ORIGIN...822840788QQcategoryZ35209QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
The price for that on this one looks like 16.45. (This includes the shipping and insurance as noted on the bottom.) oem_wireless has other buy now auctions of this cable, so feel free to look around and see if you can get a better deal on another one.

I also got a blue tooth dongle from newegg.com. Code for that is: "ZUB6111C".
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833130024
This is $20 + $ 1.99 shipping - $12 rebate = 9.99

Now I transfer files without a cable between my e815 and computer all with a nice file browser.

IF YOU DO THIS, MAKE SURE TO BE VERY CAREFUL! AND ALWAYS ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO BACKUP THE SEEM BEFORE CHANGING IT!

I hope I helped someone here.

ok, when i do it, i send it, try to dl it, it says pix msg retreving, then gives the error: message recepit failed

i have a samsung sch-350, does it not work with my phone? :(

I have a Audiovox 8600, and it's not letting me get ringtones either, it sends them to the website vzwpix.com.. What am I doing wrong? lol

I was trying to help his friend because he was having the same problem, he tried to attatch 3 files and send all three to his phone at once. We had to do one at a time. I'm not sure if you are doing that. With my motorola it allows me to attach 3 files so it only costs 25 cents to send 3 :)

i have a lg vx6000 and i tried to dl a ringtone but it says network authentication failed. anyone else gettingt his same problem?? it shows up in my pix mailbox but i dont see the attachment??

I have an lg vx6000. I was able to load the music onto the phone. However, the volume is very soft when I set it as a ringtone but plays normally when I play it from the pix messages.

Here are a couple of things I did to load them onto the phone:

1. easiest way - download this software

http://www.ringtonechopshop.com/site/index-1.html

It is pretty straightforward. This software allows you to create your own ringtones as well from your music files. On the last step (send to phone)make sure you click on that little arrow on the left hand side (advanced options) and check on the attach audio box. The ringtone format should always be CDMA for verizon.

2. sending it via your e-mail. go to the c prompt via your accessories. rename the file from music.mp3 to music.mid. send it as an attachment.

For the lg vx6000, you can only load it as a ringtone if it is 30k or less.

You've got a PIX or FLIX message! To see it, visit www.vzwpix.com from an internet accessible computer and follow the instructions.

Usually when you get that message it means that your phone does not support multimedia messaging.

I have an LG VX6100 and didn't have any issues with getting these ringtones using the directions given and sending one at a time.
