(Filled) Windows 7 Launch Party - House Party ~Apply now!

I still havent gotten my tracking number, but if my box shows up WITHOUT the CD, I would be very heated. I saw the pictures and a few unboxing videos and the box stands out, so for scammers these kinda boxes being left out on porches are like a dream for them. If only MS had sent the party packs out in regular old brown boxes.

I know, I'll be waiting at the door all day tomorrow!~

Stock up on what I need today, cause I ain't going anywhere tomorrow until that box comes!

I never got an email with a tracking number but my package showed up at work today! YAY! :teeth:

LOL, I hear ya. I will be the same way. The UPS truck is very loud so when he pulls up and by the time he gets up the stairs I will already have the door open waiting :).

Never thought I would be this excited about an OS

I assumed (was hopping) that they would require signature confirmation. I Do not trust my neighbors at all.

Finally got it. Wouldn't you know ups was running a little late today. Its installed and updated. So far The only thing I don't like is that it takes a lot longer to shut down and restart compared to Vista. Is this just me or is anyone else noticing that as well?

It might be because you've mostly been restarting for updates. Plus, it's always seemed to me that after you get all kinds of drivers installed, the first few restarts are a little slow. Give it some time ^_^

Got mine today - nothing was missing. Now I just have to carve out some time to get this puppy installed, and decide whether I want 32 or 64-bit...

Geek Happy Dance!! :bounce::dancing2:

I love it! I tried to install my printer software and got a message that it was not compatible, i liked to have panicked, but then realized I didn't need to install it from the disk. Windows 7 automatically installs device drivers without the need of disks. Saves a whole lot of time! I had it it up and running in no time, after I spent an entire day last week reinstalling xp on my other system.

just finished mine.. and so far so good.. now off to bed play tomorrow

well had to go back to vista until netgear releases drivers! totally stinks! oh well! still have it though :D

Im impressed, even my companies software works... I was expecting it not to

I ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor and only one thing was flagged but there is an updated driver for it - so should be no problem when installed - says with crossed fingers and a wry smile

The Update Adviser pointed out a couple drivers I'll need to update after the install too...problem is we just moved and I have about half my hardware devices packed away downstairs, so I may be getting some surprises later on! Looks like I have a Saturday project! :pcguru:

I got my box yesterday at around 6 pm :suspicious:

But nothing was missing from the box, everything there

Boy am I impressed - took around 2 1/2 -3 hrs to upgrade it - but it was worth it - all programs working, internet working, all devices working - so no work to do after the upgrade which made the 3 hours well worth it - so used to the days where you had to install then spend days getting it to work again lol

didnt work

i put windows 7 on my laptop with windows vista and didnt work. i couldnt get in internet explorer! so lo and behold i went back to factory mode with my computer and with everything else new, i will wait until the glitches are out!!! so mad! it looked cool, windows 7!!!!!!!!!!

im so glad everyone didnt have probs like i did :D anyone who was succesful do ya'll use wireless adapters?? and if you do what brand and model number cuz im tired of waiting lol....i will go buy a new one instead of waiting for netgear to update....thanks in advanced for your input :D
