I got in!!!!

So excited! I wanted this one really bad!

I had already pre-ordered Windows 7 Premium, but really wanted Ultimate - now I have it!! Since I got Premium at such a great price ($50), I'm thinking of still getting it and using that as a prize for my guests!
 
I think you're automatically entered if you're chosen to be a host. I did my invites on the website and have gotten confirmation from those people that they did receive an email.

BTW, I am also using Vista.

Great idea! I may do the same - I pre-ordered at a good price too. Would definitely spark an interest in the party! Anybody have any idea how many PCs the Signature Edition license is for? I'd like to put W7 on hubby's laptop too, but the prize idea is a good one...

Rats, I just checked Microsoft's forum and each license is for one computer only...
 
I was actually choosen. Anyone wanna come to my party..? Windows 7 Is a great O.S. I love it.
 
I got in too! This is my first houseparty so I'm not exactly sure how it works but I'm learning! I wonder if the software will be an upgrade disk or the full install? I have vista and was dying to try windows 7 so this is great for me. Does anyone know if by a small chance there are problems with windows 7 will it be easy to go back to vista? I'm a little concerned about this. My other vista died on me so my pc is only 2 months old. How soon before the party do the kits usually come?

Yea, probably vista users only because windows 7 has the same requirements as vista.... I really hope all the bugs are fixed in 7 because I have had a lot of compatibility issues with vista, although I do love it!

Switching back to Vista would probably be impossible, but I can assure you that you wouldn't want to.

7 is simply better, it uses less resources on your compy, and it's a better system overall.

That's actually what you're supposed to demonstrate at your houseparty ^^

If you're worried about problems, make a backup before you do the install.

From what I heard on the houseparty forums, you'll be getting a full retail copy.
 
Mine says "Still Under Review" - that I should get an email around 09/21. No email. Does that mean rejected??

I don't think online is an option; it asks for an address for the location of your party. If you ask me, not too shabby an excuse for party food and friends! :tongue:
 
I applied yesterday and was accepted today! This is not filled yet! Not sure why it is marked "FILLED"

I got in on this house party. I am not boasting, but I am lucky enough to get every one that I apply for. I absolutely LOVE entertaining and doing it with a purpose makes it so worth it. By the way, some are saying that Vista users are being chosen, but I have XP. Don't know how that happened.
 
Do they send out emails to the hosts to let them know that party packs have shipped? What do they usually ship by? Ups? fedex? usps?
 
I got lucky and got in on it too. I've been using the rc and betas for about a year. Really glad to get an Ultimate version. Never would have been able to afford it so I feel quite fortunate.

Hey just noticed your question. I was watching one of the party videos and I remember them saying that a virtual party was possible. I think that the features to share were video chatting and maybe remote desktop help.

The videos are on your party page somewhere... That houseparty.com has to be the hardest website to navigate ever... (Of course that could be pilot error.)

Thats great. I apply all the time and this is the first one I have gotten into.

Question... My VISTA is fairly new. When I install 7 by chance something goes wrong will it be easy to go back to vista without a new install?

If you want to go back to Vista, you will have to completely re-install it.
