(Expired) allure august update

Well, I got an answer from Allure, but it's the same old run around. They say to contact the companies....:argh:

Our giveaway product partners are responsible to fulfilling prizes to Free Stuff winners. Allure does not furnish these. We will pass your query along to these specific companies, but you should be in touch with their respective customer service departments.

I just realized the email (which was to [email protected]) stated that they would send the message on to Allure Access as they only handled Free Stuff. Hmmmm, my copy of the August calendar says "go to allure.com/freestuff for the details", not Allure Access. Am I missing something?

I have been keeping up with this on another site as well and several have posted not getting the Neutrogena. Good luck to those who try to contact and get their prizes. I also read that someone who was listed as winning one of the hair dryers (don't remember which one) contacted the company providing the prizes and they got back with her saying thanks for bringing it to their attention. They had never received the list from allure and would be sending out the prizes asap. The only thing I am listed as having won that I didn't receive was the Garnier shamplooand conditioner. I have already contacted Garnier and will let you all know how it goes.

My name is on the list for two items: the Rembrandt Whitening Touch Up Pen and the Avon Imari Seduction. I received both of them. Thanks for posting the list!

I did receive that--and I wouldn't waste any time on it. It costs $.99 to purchase. I remember thinking how weird--a stupid prize which cost $.58 to mail out. As for any others, I would contact the companies first to see if Allure sent over a complete and correct list, and if so, ask where the prize is. I would also contact Allure, but I think they will be innundated with e-mails and calls for the next couple of days since I posted this. I'm probably banned for life, but I only thought it was fair to post this so people could see if Allure was really accurate in mailing out the prizes or making sure that the companies did so. After all, Allure told me that the companies are contracturally liable to fulfill the prizes. Well, what the hell happened then that so many people are missing so many items? I think this may well be a wake-up call for Allure if they really have to track down and follow up with lots of people about lots of missing things. So be it.
 
From the response I got yesterday, I doubt they will be tracking anything down. According to them, it's not their responsibility. They must have passed it along though. I got an email from Fekkai asking for my shipping address. I don't think they ever got the info from Allure in the first place. But, then I got this from Garnier:

I emailed Garnier first and then copied that back to Allure. I will let you know if I get a response.
 
Amazingly I actually received the 5 items I was on the list as having won. Of course they were mostly crap like the two 99 cent lipsticks from Wet and Wild and NYC. Thanks so much for posting the list!
 
A lady contacted me from Maybelline. I guess Allure really did contact the companies! She also takes care of the Garnier. So if you're missing the Garnier, and their site doesn't help, try contacting Maybelline. ;)
 
Yes, I told Allure which four items I was missing and asked THEM to follow up and I got an e-mail from Maybelline right away for the Maybelline and Garnier products. That's all taken care of. I need to hear from Benefit and Goody, and if I don't I'll figure out my next move.
 
I haven't heard anything from Benefit. Supposedly Allure contacted them and I did also. :noidea:

Can you please give me the e-mail address you used for Benefit? They have not contacted me, and from what I've read on another board, it'll be a cold day in hell before you ever pry anything out of their cold, slimy hands! Well, I'm out to prove all of them wrong--and get what they should have sent out in the first place (even if I don't want or need it). They are not in contract compliance when they do not fulfill the prizes, and Allure should insist that they live up their obligations.

I just used the Contact page on their site. It was all I could find. Maybe if we both bug the crap out of them, we'll get our lipstick! ;)
Aussie didn't get back to me either. I think theirs was only worth about $3, but they still should have sent it. :cussing:

I got a response from Tonya at Garnier yesterday, and they will be sending my prize right out. I can't believe it was that easy after getting jerked around by allure.
