Discuss Past Months Allure Give-Aways Here

I've been watching the time and patterns for the winners on another thread. IT seems that as the contest went on, the more people were hitting their servers. This could create a lag in their systems clock update. Since they get to be the official time keeper, they determined when it was on the hour. IMO, that's why so many people who entered others after themselves, are finding that those are the ones raking it in.

I believe that by midmonth on this, the servers were about 10 seconds late... That's enough to destroy any chance of a win by using time.gov.

I'll second this theory about the later entries winning. My dad has been the one to receive "my wins." I entered him last, and was probably hitting around 15-20 seconds after the official gov. time. I think last year I won about 15 things total...this year, I believe it has been three total.
 
It actually makes me wonder if Allure "adjusted" the time to prevent all of us freebie hunters from getting in. I smell a conspiracy. Next August the time will probably be right on and we will miss it by waiting the 15 seconds. Jeesh. I only got 3 products this time. I think I will take a month long vacation on a far away island for August this year.
 
The funny thing is, I entered half of these things on my home computer, so I was on slow dial up for lots of them. My time ended up being anywhere from 10 seconds past the hour to 25 seconds, and pretty much everything in between.

So I can't figure out the timing at all!

I moved in late Nov...i'm tempted to think even if I won any Allure giveaways in 2008, I won't get them now :(
 
I just rec'd a box via standard USPS filled with Aveeno goodies, from Allure. I presume this was all from the August Allure giveaways. It was a natural Aveeno tote, 2 bottles of aveeno theraputic shaving gel, 30 spf Continuous protection sunblock lotion, active naturals ultra calming daily moisturizer spf 15, active naturals positively radiant daily moisturizer spf 30, and a 'big' bottle of Daily moisturizing lotion (one w/the aveeno Reader's choice seal). :)

I think a while ago I got one other thing from a contest, but I forget what it was... I'm semi-surprised we're getting these 7 months later... then again, after hearing about last year, I'm not totally surprised.

Hmm... I just looked at pg 2, thru the list of daily giveaways... I don't see that (pictured above) listed. Anyone know when this was done?
 
It was the January Allure Access Aveeno sweep. It would have opened up on Dec 23rd.

Wow - congrats to the lucky winners! It's a really nice gift bag and products to try! It's been kinda slow for Allure wins for me. I received only 1 item from the huge August thing, but I wasn't able to try for very many.
 
Really? I don't recall doing any allure entries since October... Huh. Thanks for clarifying. :)
 
I got a box from allure yesterday that said sweepstakes winner, when I opened the box it was packed with stuffing and empty. I don't even know what it was suppose to be.
 
Oh, Nico... I'm sorry. Did you look REALLY close? Maybe there was something tiny in it?
 
Yeah, I was a big box, dumped out all of the stuffing and package paper and nothing.
 
are you serious nico??? i think allure is playing a joke on you, thats wrong but yet funny at the same time, lol, i'd contact them if i were you.
