you look at the second of a second, i hope that makes sense, here is an example, if the entry is at 1pm you want to be ready at 12:59:59 to hit that submit button. what others including myself are doing is experiementing with different times to submit like i do 12:59:50 for a 1pm entry and i note that in my records so i know if i get that prize that means for future reference i can submit at that time frame. does that make more sense?!?! here is some Vem7 posted but i have CA you can change the location, you can have this open and check the time and enter whatever time you decide you want to enter

I switched over to FireFox to do these - I watch the seconds on the clock and when it hits 1:59:59, I hit submit. Once that is done, right click on your Thank You - Refer a Friend page (if it's done in FireFox) and click on View Page Info - this will show the time that the page was modified. Since I've been doing it this way, I at least have an idea of what time I submitted.

I downloaded FireFox at my home computer and my work computer and it's much, much easier to use for the contests.

:claps: THANK YOU!! I never fully understood when people were saying what second mark they entered at -- I figured they were looking at the time on their main system clock on the computer. (And I agree that Firefox is MUCH better for this and for many other uses -- it's actually a safer browser than IE. I switched about a year ago when my IE was somehow corrupted by a virus -- FF is much less likely to have something like that happen).

For today, the 1pm shampoo/conditioner one, I didn't see the "friend" page until 1:00:20 -- however the way you just explained shows that my thing went thru at: Friday, August 08, 2008 1:00:12 PM. I hit the submit button at 12:59:59.

You're welcome.... I just hope some of us get these products - this is sooooo much easier than the Elle/Sephora one last month.
 
Well, in a way I agree, Sherri, and a way I don't. At least with Elle/Sephora, you KNEW specifically when the contest started. Here, you're kinda fumbling around in the dark hoping your submission goes in for the new contest and not the prev. hour's one, you know? It was nice to have a different submission page for each contest. There's a part of me that actually kinda preferred it over this... :confused:
 
Jetwoman, I got you in for the 2pm Lotion today at: Friday, August 08, 2008 2:00:08 PM (submitted at 1:59:59, firefox showed the confirmation page "mod" info was for the time above).

-- Also got "A" in at 2:00:11 PM & SIL & MOM at 2:00:12 PM. :teeth:
 
i just did www.firefox.com.

I got in at 2:00:00 and 2:00:03 for this one... not the one that I wanted to do so great on though... oh well.... I have a fast connection at work, so I think I might make out pretty well this month.
 
ok, just loaded Firefox on my computer. I'm almost afraid to check and see what time my info really submitted. My nerves are on edge. Thanks everyone for all of the computer info! :)

LOL, it's ok. Apparently a lot of people just do the link you posted since it automatically redirects to the correct link. :) I actually posted my link before I saw you posted one -- more or less did it at the same time. :p
 
ONE MORE QUESTION -How are you guys putting your screens on the page to where it is easiest to get to the submit button on them. I've got one pulled up for myself and my mom. I keep having to flip screens...and I get frazzled about which one I've clicked the submit button on. I know, I know. It's probably just me!

:eek: this takes a lot of work. Seems like I no sooner get done entering for one and my alarm is going off for the next one. Glad it is only for 5 hours a day. Ending up being on the comp more then I should be on right now. Going this weekend to best buy to look for a laptop :)
 
ok...according to firefox, got in at 3:00:00 and 3:00:02. Don't know if I'll get anything, but atleast I know.
 
Both my cell phone and pc clicked onto the hour at the same second but when I look at page info for firefox it says 2:00:09

And Star, yes, having a laptop REALLY makes this a lot easier. I can bring it to bed w/me if I'm wanting to enter a contest but not get out of bed. LOL Bathroom breaks don't even scare me anymore. ;)

As far as today's 3pm contest (Shu Uemura Drawing Pencil in 03 M Blue (retail value: $19) The first 100)

I submitted RIGHT after it hit 2:59:58 -- thought that might help delay it less than the 2:59:59 which seems to take longer to load.

My 1st submission said it got thru at: 3:00:04 PM, 2nd submission (for SIL): 3:00:09 PM, and 3rd submission for my friend A at 3:00:10 PM.

I think I might have found the sweet spot for entry time. *lets hope!* :proud:

I know this might sound strange, but I'd almost prefer having the firefox time stamp be a couple seconds after the hour (not too far tho) as that's the time the confirmation loaded, but not necessarily the time the form was rec'd by Allure... Hence, I'd prefer a few second buffer between there. This is just my assumption, tho, so who knows how accurate it is. I'm just trying to get this whole thing down to a science. LOL

I do that too. I have a window just dedicated to Allure. The 1st tab is this forum, 2nd tab is my entry form, 3rd tab is my SIL, 4th tab is my mom, 5th tab is my friend Aleta, and 6th tab is Jetwoman. They're all queued up before the hour (it saves the info, thankfully) so all I have to do is click submit & once confirmed, hit the back arrow. The tabs for my mom & friend "A" can confuse me sometimes but for the most part, I remember what tab's what... I don't enter everyone for every contest. And I also have my last tab (7 tabs total) listing what each contest is and its time (http://www.allure.com/freestuff/2008/08/free_stuff_slideshow?slide=6)

I just keep the entry form pages scrolled down so I flip thru the tabs and hit "submit" for each one. I don't know that there's any better way to do it, really.

Got in for the 4pm one (Samy Fast Style Styling Mist (retail value: $14.99) The first 500) for myself at: 4:00:10 PM --- also submitted that at hr:59:59.. I guess it just depends on how many ppl are trying to enter. (Jetwoman; got in for you too - your confirmation pg time stamp was 4:00:14 PM -- so were all the others I entered, oddly. I guess there was a longer delay for those as more ppl trying to enter?) :)
