When you should stop....

Ok one last thing then off to bed..I would pay good money to see either one of those two play your game. You definitely should not exclude guys. Perhaps BD would like to play! lol

I was almost ready to pull out the , but then this comment popped out. :worry: :ignore:

Hmm, so this thread is called "When you should stop..."

This is when you should stop eating the fries.

Now you know these gals posed for this picture. Did they not think that there would be comments made, and not positive ones at that?

You put it out there, you open yourself up for comments.

If they were more modest, no one would care or even bat an eye.

Of course. I think its funny, thats all. A good condidate for when to stop. Thats all.

Good for them for not being self conscious.

first of all, thank you BD for taking that crude picture down.

secondly, alligator skin is gross.

thirdly, there are some bathing suits that would flatter these women. they have underwires to hold their chests up and lower cut legs that are more flattering to a sagging derriere. it's not that they aren't allowed to wear what they want, but to wear something that is highly unflattering warrants a visit from the "what not to wear" people. KM, preco, crazybutt, bluesky, mrsk, and i (sorry if i left any of you other girls out) are happy to do the job, since stacy london and clinton kelly are busy :p

:amen:
There is definitely a job to do in this thread and us gals are doing it!
Clubby is right - there are many bathing suits for all shapes and sizes to be properly covered.

OOOH! Can I be the Robert Verdi character? Every group of fashion nazis needs a guy in the group! Only thing, Im not gay. But Im still FAAAABULOUSSSSSSS!

I totally agree with gr8nrg. This shouldnt be a 'make fun of people who arent as pretty as you'd like them to be' thread, but I hadnt seen it that way until gr8 made the same 'gr8' point I made about the guy playing guitar hero.. Who the hell are we to make fun of someone for being courageous and happy enough with themselves to do what they want without fear of people making fun.... So, I remove my pic, and my comment, and I will only participate in a jocular, fun manner.

Hurray for feeling comfortable and self-confident with yourself. There's a time, place and manner for all....that is the point.

with that said - you should practice what you preach in all threads

You're being serious arent you? Oh jeez! Whatever!

Thats a bit different. Thats not making fun of someone's shortcomings or singling anyone out. Im not making fun of that girl, or that guy, or whatever. If that joke is what bothered you among all the other blonde generalizations, theres nothing I can do about that.

Plus, what you quoted has nothing to do with the post you specified. My blonde joke wasnt about self confidence, or being happy with yourself, or being courageous, or anything like that. Its apples and oranges.

If it hurts your feelings, maybe you should toughen up a bit.

I don't think the blonde thing falls into this category, nor do I think 'people's shortcomings' do as well. If this person was physically challenged, there would be no 'comments'.....the alligator woman in her bikini did not have 'shortcomings'....she chose to bake in the sun and chose her attire. I do not consider that a shortcoming, I just consider that lacking decorum and she leaves herself open to the 'attention' and 'comments'.

Please, it doesnt hurt my feelings. But the principle of making fun is still the same. This thread is about wrinkled, sagging older women - the other is making fun of blondes.

I don't totally agree with that. Look at the Dove campaign they recently did with older women and their 'wrinkles' and their 'sagging' was not flaunted...that was tastefully done and I don't recall hearing any 'prune' jokes/comments. That campaign made one appreciate their age and respect whatever wrinkles they have.

The blonde thing is a 'stereo typical' thing and not really aimed at any particular person.

Do you see the old lady or young lady?

The thing I am getting at is in this thread people are saying "dont make fun of the old wrinkled ladies in bikinis & the large gals eating french fries" but let's go in another thread and it's ok to make blonde jokes. The principle is that jokes are being made by appearances only.

And that this whole thread has been blown out of proportion....:claps:

Yes, it started out as comments aimed on people's 'tactless appearances'........I don't really feel it's 'shallow' to comment on them. Kind of the 'what were they thinking'.

The blonde jokes.....they're jokes.

back to the fry girls-
they were totally making fun of themselves sitting there in lingerie feeding each other mickey d's fries. its actually kind of sad they don't think more highly of themselves.

Well in my opinion they are they same.

These pictures are of real women and I am sure they would be offended, just as some blondes would be at the blonde jokes.

The principle is still the same - people are being made fun of in both threads. Whether it's sagging bikini wearing grandmas or blondes.

I'm done with this already.

You sure do seem to be taking this pretty seriously considering that your feelings werent hurt in either thread.. I can only assume that youre so adamant about this because youre a blonde (you being blonde is the impression I get from your replies in both threads).

KM, no one said we all have to feel the same. I just see a difference....blonde jokes are a total goof to me. I was born blonde and remained blonde for most of my life (it's only recently that my hair turned dark) and I was never offended by them. I laughed, because I know the color of my hair bares no reflection on my intelligence.

I can look back at pictures of myself in HS with pink feather earrings and laugh, "What was I thinking?". I actually thought I looked 'hot' at the time...:p

omg you guys are babies! i think it'd be fun... there are some UGLY suits out there... i'm talking about trying on suits that are waaay too big, waaay outdated, and waaay UGLY

you don't have to "bear all"

I cant find any pics of ugly suits - most of them are pretty cute!
