Western Digital 120gb for $9.99 in Circuit City UPDATE

Friend of mine was just able today to get the people at CC to give her the $60 as an instant rebate rather than having to mail it in to Western Digital.

I received a call from CC today informing me that both rebates would be honored by WD.

All we need to do is send in the correct rebate form, a photocopy of the UPC (or original) and the email reciept showing your order number and three rebates. They probably worked out what time the info was corrected and will honor the rebate for those who ordered in time.

I think I'll include a cover letter just to be sure.

Kudos to both companies for acknowledging the mistake and coming to some agreement to honor the receipts.

funny thing would be that they wont honor your rebates. There you go and lose $140. All they have to do is take their time and slowly you people will forget about it and they will never send it. That's just an if, you can never blame them.

Nah . . . I got my $60 and I'm happy. Besides, in the FW thread there are posts that CC will check if their system shows you already got the $60, and politely decline. Or they could get mean and claim fraud for those who try to do both, though I doubt it.
 
I fail to see how one could lose $140. At the very least, the $80 one would go thru since people would be using an *original* upc for that submission. The only risky one was the sixty smackers but it seems like for the most part, CC was/is willing to work with people on this..
 
I received email confirmation of all three rebates. According to website, checks should be "in the mail" the second week of June.

There ya go, $9.99 ea for 2 120/8mb Drives, my best deal yet. The other one was in my dad's name.

I only received confirmation on the $10, and I received it in the mail yesterday. I'm getting a bit worried about the $60 and $80 now...

I am going to call up Circuit City and find out whats going on..... I'll post what I find.
 
Now I've got a fight on my hands!

WD has web posted approval of the $80 but denied my dad his $60 rebate due to "lack of original" UPC. Note was put on the copy explaining situation about the other rebate. The rep referred to in prior posting was used as basis.

Interestingly, all three of mine ($10, $60 and $80) show web approved with identical paperwork.

WD was particularly adamant on the phone about CC being the responsible party now. It was, to their point, a CC web crew screwup.

They claim they had only approved the doubles where the purchase was made on 4/24. Both of these orders were placed on the web on 4/26 back to back and confirmed with emails of the same date. Inconsistent enforcement of that policy, it seems, but it's better than two fights I guess.

I guess it's off to CC to discuss the situation with the local manager. We actually traveled about 45 miles to get the deal in the first place. Many local CCs were OOS.

All is well!!

CC reviewed the paperwork, brought in the back room, and came back and put $60 + tax back on dad's credit card.

No fuss, no muss.... Thank You CC!!
 
CC WD 120GB rebates

Got the $10 rebate a few weeks ago, and got a check for $140 from CC on Aug. 14, combining the $80 and $60 rebates. Amazed and happy.
 
I got my rebates a few weeks ago
$150 rebate plus MSN dollars gave me $34 (20%).
after all that I got the HD for -$10 something....(tax included!!!)
CC might not have the best selection but I really love their customore service. BB go to hell~
