What a %$*$(&^#^#^#)* day I'm having. I just had two wisdom teeth extracted and was told the lower one was sitting on top of a major nerve. Apparently, there is the possibility the nerve was damaged and I won't be able to feel parts of my face/lips ever again...but I'll just have to wait up to 6 months and see.

I'd be careful with that. Just like you are not supposed to use a straw you should try to not do anything to forceful with air or suction while you are still in healing mode. You can dislodge the little "clots" that helping the wound areas heal.

......used to work in dentist's office.....you pick up loads of useless, er, useful information.......

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those grateful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey.

A one question poll.

DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO CAST YOUR VOTE:
This is your chance to vote on Obama's performance on this Economy-AT&T/Yahoo Poll.... NOTE: this is a totally unbiased poll. The question is stated very simply... and, to the point. No tricks. No hidden messages. No nothing. JUST A SINGLE, SIMPLE QUESTION. There is no way that anyone can say that it was not a fair poll... or, that it was "phrased" in a way that it can be interpreted later... to fit someone else's desired answer. In other words... it is a spin-doctor's "nightmare."

NOTE: After you vote, you will see a second page that shows the running total and what the opinions are.

Then pass it on... so others can cast their vote.

Is the recorder a real instrument?

dbee, I can even barely type right now. This video so moved me and filled my saddened heart with patriotism. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

Dry sockets are a b*tch!!! They hurt like hell (why do people say that? does hell actually hurt? :noidea: )

What is dry socket?

The socket is the hole in the bone where the tooth has been removed. After a tooth is pulled, a blood clot forms in the socket to protect the bone and nerves underneath. Sometimes that clot can become dislodged or dissolve a couple of days after the extraction. That leaves the bone and nerve exposed to air, food, fluid, and anything else that enters the mouth. This can lead to infection and severe pain that can last for five or six days.

yeah, it dawned on me that it was like a straw. my plan is to go to rehearsal on Monday and not play...but just go through the fingerings. We have a big concert on the 16th (and I'm in a quartet)...so I better be ok by then. I would think after 1 1/2 weeks I'll be fine. But, I'll ask the dentist to be sure. Thanks for your input. :)
