It would seem a bit of old style livin' really does go a long way. Modern convenience seems to shorten our lives.

Does anyone experience their kid's battery operated toys going off/turning on when it storms?

Sorry K-Ma I could not resist  :blushing:
OMG! Shame shame Choo! :toetap05:

Chuckie dolls?

Ummm.....no. I knew this question would draw that response.

What kind of toys in particular?

It is Fisher Price light up ball. It has two levels where a ball swirls within the big ball. It also has music and yells "Hey! WOW! Woo Hoo!" And when it storms the lights flash and it yells "Hey!"

It's afraid of lightning!
It's susceptible to the electromagnetic pulse from lightning. Probably some wiring in the thing acting as an antenna

OMG! That is awesome!! My grandfather is 93 and still lives (safely!) on his own and can discuss any topic in the media from foreign affairs to entertainment!! We have dinner with him every couple of weeks and I cannot believe my daughter gets to enjoy my grandfather and his silly jokes as much as I do!!

I often wonder if we will be as "able" as these 90+ folks if we get that far~the lifestyles that they lived did not include fast food and so much sedentary "activity".

I can't believe that your Grandfather still lives alone

That's really great. When my Grandmother turned 90 everyone decided that it was time she stopped driving and moved her into a assisted living apartment. It was great there for her, she had a cousin there and friends. Sadly with time, everyone she knows has died:rip:

:teeth: That's great that your daughter enjoys time with her great-grandfather

Getting old.......is not for the young:noidea:

:drool5: you know in the senior living places, men are a hot commodity :bootyshake:

LOL! Good point.....it must be afraid.

Now the Alphabet Pal will go off when it's left on and it's batteries are getting low. Freaked me out the first few times it happened.....

Seriously... will that help?

I did have one for breakfast this morning...

Not unless you're low on potassium or magnesium, which, unless you have a medical reason to be, is not the case. The twitch is benign and can last as long as 2 weeks, but will almost always go away on its own and should not be a reason for concern. Stress is the most common cause, followed by chronic fatigue and feeling tired. Get some rest.

It's your duty as a citizen. And, don't forget: capital punishment is legal in most states - make sure they never leave the prison.

Yeah... hubby's on a business trip, I'm home with a 2 & 6 year old, tomorrow I'm making dinner for four families and I have a cold that just won't go away. Stress? What stress?

:-) Thanks for the kind words though! :-) I am going to turn off the computer and go to bed now.

BTW: Butty- ENJOY Jury Duty! I would actually hope to get assigned to an interesting case! Just sitting around is no fun...

I think I said this before..the novelty wears off. I'm having a bad week and this is just something I don't want to do tomorrow.

Yeah, if I'm going to be there it might as well be something good.
Good luck tomorrow!

I have never done jury duty but one of these days I think it would be interesting. I hope you get a good case.
