he's ba - aaaat!

OK, so some of you may remember I had a bat hanging right outside my attic? Well my son Luc almost stepped on a dead bat that was in the driveway 2 days ago! The poor thing looked a bit ragged, like he had died a few days earlier and his little hands/paws/whatever eventually let go of the screen. Of course falling 25 feet or so probably didn't help. So I wander up to the attic thinking the coast is all clear. There are now two bats up there. wth! I've got some bloodmeal/something else spray my mom used to chase away rabbits. My first concern was the variety of bat. I am assuming that it is not a vampire bat, as I have read only 10 of the thousands of different species are these. The spray label shows pics of many rodents it supposedly will work on. Of course I have to keep telling myself that batty and his friend are mammals. And the bats are apparently protected here by law. I'll wait til they leave tonight and spray everything down. I've also heard I can leave some human hair out there and it will do the trick. hmmmm. :convinced: :bat:

You might want to consider these guys for help. I think they need the work. LOL

Either can I!!!! The other night, I fell asleep on the couch and I had pj pants on. I groggily got up and went to bed and was too tired to change into other pj's (it was like 2 in the morning). A short time later after tossing and turning...I stood up and took those things off!!!! They get too tangled up and too hot!

My son goes to bed in whatever it was he wore for the day, jeans, t-shirt, socks etc... Then he wonders why he cannot sleep well. :noidea:

Me, a pair of shorts is all I need. Nothing like a nice cool bedroom laying under just the sheet. When I was working out of town and staying in a hotel I would turn AC on coldest setting, year round.

I have the house to myself (well, aside from the bats and my cat). My kids and hubby went out of town and I will join them tomorrow. I just got back from a 5 hour shopping trip in a nearby town. Got a bunch of freebies while I was there too. Shopping and a Starbucks cappucino. My stress is gone....ahhhh.

:hail: :hail:

Still stress free. I "left" my husband and kids two hours away at grandmas because my son was begging to stay longer. I said "toodles" and drove home. But I have to get up to play recorder at church at 7:30, so I have a valid excuse, right? ;)

:mmph:I HATE airports!:mmph: How do these people get their jobs?!?! Do you have to have the brain capacity of a viral cell? I am currently sitting in LA airport and it has to be one of the worse airports in the world! Time for chocolate......

:worry: Don't sit.....get up, walk around, have some water and go buy and put on some compression stockings.......

How do I prevent DVT during air travel?

Studies in healthy people have shown that wearing “compression stockings” may help minimize the risk of developing DVT after long flights. These stockings put pressure on leg muscles and help return blood flow from the legs to the heart.

People with cardiovascular disease and those at risk for clots in their legs may benefit from a single dose of heparin. This drug prevents clots from forming and is effective in reducing the risk of DVT in high-risk patients.

Drinking extra water, walking if feasible and avoiding alcohol intake are also good advice. These steps aren’t scientifically proven to prevent traveler’s thrombosis, but they’re common sense.

A little exercise might help with the stress too....;)

:)Thanks Preco  I really appreciate the support. I reckon I am just plum tuckered out from the past three weeks and just want to be home NOW. Oh yeah, a huge supporter of exercise and water when flying. Especially at my age, when circulation slows down.:( On a brighter note, I met, and, had the most incredible opportunity with some wonderful children! :) Despite their illness, most came in smiling, and, the parents were very appreciative as well. Makes for an uplifting experience, despite our 18-20 hour days in the clinic.
Well, boarding call was just yelped out, at least, I THINK it was boarding call :mmph: The primates are lining up as if bananas were being given away for free! Where in the hell do they think they are going in a hurry except to sit in their seat for five hours?!?! Idiots.:mmph: With some luck, I will hit the Island in time to have breakfast with my favorite little boy dog, and, my Mom. Notice who I named first! LOL
Be well folks, and, steer clear of LA airport!
