My bouquet and centerpieces for my wedding next September got stolen this week. I didn't even get to open the packages. On top of it I paid the extra to insure them they weren't insured...gggggrrrrr

What? THe company did not insure the packages that you PAID to have insured? Then, my dear, they are on the hook for the lost goods. If they prove difficult, if you paid with a credit card I would call ASAP and ask what their Buyer Protection covers. Explain all the details and they may give you a credit while they fight it out with your supplier.

the real reason? there are too many qualified teachers with a multiple subjects (elementary) credential. we keep hearing "we need teachers", but what they mean is "we need math and science teachers"... it works out okay, though, because teaching in higher ed is probably really more my speed anyway. adult learners give a little less attitude than jr. highers

Too bad you aren't on the east coast. There's plenty of jobs for teachers in all subject areas, including general and elementary education. That is, there are jobs so long as your background is from reputable schools and all -- mailorder diplomas or online "colleges" are rather frowned upon.

Who is leaving for Chicago today??:noidea::noidea:

Propelissa is leaving for Chicago today!!!!:eyebrows::proud:

Who is leaving for Texas tomorrow?? :noidea: :noidea:

K-Ma is leaving for Texas tomorrow!!!!:eyebrows::proud:

;)
Have fun Lissa! See Yall when I get back!

Have fun you two!! If I had to chose out of the two it would definitely be Chicago. I've only been there once, but I love it there.

Really? Why Chicago?

I'd choose San Francisco/Sonoma/Napa Valley. That was the best weekend ever.

I had a blast when I was in Chicago. Yes, I was in the city. I didn't venture off to the burbs.
My friend is moving back to Chi town so I am planning a visit.

That's what I was thinking when I read that post. It seems they're alway looking for teachers around here.

BTW: Did I miss something? Since when did they stop merging duplicate posts and start locking them? Just curious. A locked thread always makes me want to be nosey and see why it was locked.

I'm sorry, Faerie... I understand about the degree... I have a Bachelor's, a Master's, a teaching credential, and I'm working on my Doctorate, and I still couldn't get a teaching job. This one is a great job, but it's not at all what I'm trained for!

And you're a conservative trying to get a job in the Government school system.

Boy am I tired. Worked a catastrophic failure at a small power plant. Just got home. OPnly 9 hours sleep in the last 65 hours.

Thanks for saving the planet Dan.:o

No not a nuke plant, I wish it had been, at least they're clean.

This was a GARBAGE BURNER!

No, Preco, I didn't save the planet, but I sure racked up some overtime! (see avatar)

Whew!..................................

i just had my first day on the job today, and it was great! i'm beat, though...

:mmph::mmph: I've had to rename my Rat terrier Miss Mollie dog! Came home yesterday wearing a sun dress (a very pretty one by the way that I'd just bought at Kohl's who had a great sale!) She doesn't usually jump at me but when I walked in she jumped off the couch and hit the back of my leg with her very rat like claws! :zip: I can't repeat all I said LOL after I screamed but when I looked down there was a puddle of blood on the carpet. She'd actually taken a chunk of my leg with those weapons of hers! My husband rushed me into the other room (letting the ice cream melt in the trunk, silly man!) slapped a wad of paper towels on it before rescuing the carpet and the ice cream! We were both shocked when we saw it, actually discussed whether I should go get stitches. So now my beautiful baby girl is Miss Mollie Kruger...Freddie just didn't fit her! It wasn't all her fault my leg was very swollen and tight which I think made it split open when she sliced it with her nail. So do they ever declaw dogs???

No, but they do sell nail clippers for dogs. Indoor dogs don't runaround enough to wear the claws down naturally, they need to be clipped
