Happy Chinese New Years!

Thanks, and to you too, WENEEDLIGHT! And Propelissa--yup, I remember getting $ for it one year--that was fun! :)

Is the coming year the year of the pig or was that 2007?

I was born the year of the Ox. Does anyone know what animal was the year they were born?

If so, please share with the rest of us what that animal is.

I am not for sure but I could almost guarantee it was the year of the monkey, there are running bets on it anyway LOL

Haaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I was born in the year of the Tiger, and my husband? He was born in the year of the sheep, BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, I can't wait to tell him!

Tiger (Yang, 3rd Trine, Fixed Element Wood): Unpredictable, rebellious, colorful, powerful, passionate, daring, impulsive, vigorous, stimulating, sincere, affectionate, humanitarian, generous. Can be restless, reckless, impatient, quick-tempered, obstinate, selfish.

I agree with everything but selfish!

The third trine consists of the Tiger, Horse, and Dog. These three signs seek a true lover, and are like-minded in their pursuit of humanitarian causes. Each is a gifted orator and excels at verbal communication. Relationships and personal contact are of highest priority and each one seeks their intimate soul mate. Idealistic and impulsive, the Tiger, Horse and Dog follow the beat of their own drummer. Defiant against injustice, these three signs wilt without large amounts of physical affection and loyal support for causes. They are productive, enthusiastic, independent, engaging, dynamic, and honourable. They can also be rash, rebellious, quarrelsome, hot-headed, reckless, anxious, moody, disagreeable, and stubborn. Although these three signs are loyal, they can be very protective when lied to. The three signs do not enjoy being told what to do, but will listen when it is a person they love or trust whole-heartedly. The Trine of the Tiger, Horse, and Dog is a much less potent, less militaristic, and less power-driven Trine than the Rat, Dragon, and Monkey Trine (the other 3 Yang signs of the Zodiac). :teeth:

Soooooooooo, when Al Stewart sings "The Year Of The Cat" , what calender did he look on????
(no cat on Chinese Calender):convinced: :noidea:

BTW, I'm a horse, of course!

well the word "cat" can have many translations, I can only assume his was an american translation, I dunno this Al Stewart guy, maybe I'm too young, maybe I am just not into music, but he may have been referring to a certain translation which refers to certain other things that men celebrate with what us women sometimes call their only brain. :teeth:

Is that specific enough? LOL

Not necessarily what Al Stewart was singing about, but in the Vietnamese version of the Chinese zodiac, they replaced rabbit with cat. So I suppose any rabbit year could be a cat year in Vietnam.

Jeesh! I must be totally naive...I would have never considered it meaning anything other then the callender thing!
