I had a headache and my husband offered to make dinner and feed our toddler so I could take a quick nap. He made some (store bought) tortellini & sauce for us, and for our toddler, I asked him to heat up some chicken I'd made last night and put some fries from Whole Foods in the oven. Nice and easy, right? :sus:

Except our kitchen looked like a *hurricane* hit it after he was done...I just spent an hour doing a HUGE number of dishes, sweeping the floor, and vacuuming the dining room carpet (the kid saw his chance and seems to have flung chicken all over the room, and it got ground into the carpet by DH walking over it). So, I did an hour's clean up after a meal that would have taken me 20 mins total otherwise. :ohwell:

The best part of the story is...my husband is feeling virtuous and quite pleased w/ himself right now!!!!! And I'm exercising all my restraint in not saying WTH happened here?! LOL

I can TOTALLY relate. I'm right there with you... not right now, but in the general vicinity of life. :)

I totally feel your pain! My husband decided that he was going to fix fresh tuna, a salad, and potato last night for dinner because I haven't been feeling well:hungry: . So I ended up putting the potatoes in the oven since he wasn't home. And then he asked me when he should start the tuna and what spices to add to them. So instead of telling him what to do, I did it myself. He did fix the salad (after telling him exactly how to do it) and I even had to "remind" him to turn the tuna over. In the end, he was so proud of himself. But at least he did load the dishwasher!:claps:

Actually, my headache turned out to be a sinus headache, and now my ear drum is perforated from the pressure! Hurts like hell. DH has been *great*, watching our son all morning while I was at the doc's, bringing me hot drinks, picking up meds for me, when I know he has a big grant deadline looming. Ha! Just when we complain about them, they turn around and do something really sweet! :o ;)

That loud popping sound you'll soon hear is my head exploding.

Hope you get better soon!:)

So... I had a headache (see previous post). IB didn't take care of it and neither did a good night's sleep. So the next morning, I have the sudafed box on my bed and I'm taking one when my daughter came in to my bedroom. She said... [and I'll edit it for brevity because my daughter is four and takes a long time to express what she's trying to say... I guess she takes after her mommy :-)]... in any case... she said that she knew that medicine. It was the medicine in the commercial where the person head blows up and then they take it and their head turns back to normal.

Isn't it funny the things they hold on to? I can't get her to remember her snack bag before we leave for the gym *everyday* and she can remember the entire content of the commercial...and we don't watch that much TV so that commercial must have made quite an impression because I can't even remember seeing it this season...

Crazy!

Kids are absolutely awesome! When they let us see snapshots of their thought processes, we're the luckiest people in the universe.

knock yourself out.

Well, I really could use a strong drink right about now...where is that diGriz w/ his Maker's Mark when you need him?! (But don't tell him I like to mix it with Coke---the purists hate that!).

Fried peanut butter and bananna sandwiches rock! :teeth:

I'm home with two sick children for the second day in a row :verysad:

...and my four year old is already whining.:frusty:
