The Jabberwocky by CS Lewis (From Alice in Wonderland)

Oh... wait... there is no "Name That Book" thread.

people who don't prepare for the marathon properly and don't use common sense while running it and then blame their problems on everyone else instead of taking personal responsibility PISS ME OFF

Sugar pumpkins are the smaller pumpkins. They usually weigh about 5 lbs and they are the best for baking with. I am making pumpkin bread.

Good to know. But, are they stringy inside like a regular pumpkin? I have never figured out how to bake with fresh pumpkin. It seems watery and stringy. :ohwell:

Glad to see you are OK. How was the marathon?

I roasted a Cheekin for din din tonight... picked the bones afterwards because I'm going to make us some Cheeckin Pot Pie for dinner Thursday night too...

How was your cheekin? Have you made the pot pie? How did it turn out? Ours was cheekinlicious. LOL

My husband cleans out the sugar pumpkins and fills it with ham and brown sugar and more, bakes it in the oven and it is the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. You eat it right out of the pumpkin too and it makes an awesome looking table - very festive.

I don't think they are as stringy as a regular pumpkin. I cut mine into four pieces, clean out the inside and wrap in foil. Then I bake it for a hour and a half and when I take it out of the oven I let it cool off and then just peel the peel off and it isn't stringy or watery at all. I use mine for bread. I have the best recipe for pumpkin bread.:hungry: The way k-Ma's hubby makes it sounds really good too though! :)

Hmm. How big is a sugar pumpkin? Are they the really small ones? Do most grocers carry them? How will I know? HALP!

All I do is roast the seeds in the oven (or better on the grill) on a sheet pan. We put kosher salt, butter, and worcestershire sauce before they go in the heat. Im buying three pumpkins this weekend and Im doing one batch teriyaki style with soy and honey and chili oil. Or maybe Ill buy prepackaged.

Anyone else roast the seeds?

I always roast the seeds. Yum! :) Sugar pumpkins aren't the real small ones. They usually weigh about five lbs and I think most grocery store do carry them.
