Marlboro Outwit The West

Morning all - hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving... for those of us interested in the smoker... it has only received average ratings.... I think i am going now for the carhart coat for hubby..

Hubby already told me he wants the bike! Once I get the points for week 8 on thursday i should have enough! fingers crossed. I'm holding out for the netbook as is my daughter!: )
when it comes to retail value for your points the only one that comes close believe it or not is the bike! They say $449.99 nd i found it to be $439.99 only a diff of $10, the netbook they have at $538.00 and it's a lot less amazon has it for between $349-399 , and the camera? they have it at $369 i think or something like that and it's under $200 on amazon. All new and same make and model.

For # 43 it's just Bonneville Salt Flats and here's why:
OK I just got off the phone w/ ELLEN At the USFRA 801-485-2662
I asked if theydo the bar stool race at the Bonneville Speedway ..
Or on the Bonneville Salt Flats themselves.
She said that it is wherever they can race and make a course so it's actually the Bonneville Salt Flats that they race on..
So in conclusion i'm going with Bonneville Salt Flats.

She also said that the course sometimes is underwater and they'll use an old club course and other times they'll carve out their own course.
Depends if it's underwater.
Oh and btw- she said that i wasn't the first person to call and ask this question. I explained it to her what i was researching and why and she was extremely polite and most helpful. After that conversation I wouldn't mind going there just to watch the race myself! LOL!

41) Lockhart ( City of Lockhart: BBQ Capital of Texas )

42) Ariosa (Arbuckles Rio South American Coffee Coffee )

43) bar stool (or) bar stools (2nd part) Bonneville Salt Flats (Not sure if it should be plural for stools? Bar Stool rules )

44 Strickland (Mabel Strickland) (</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us"> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0"> <meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document")

(Doubleday, part two)

" Mabel was born in Washington State in 1897, and grew up on a ranch near Walla Walla. She began her rodeo career in 1912 as Mable DeLong, riding relay races for the famous Drumhellers. She soon added steer roping and trick riding to her career, and won championships in all three events. By the time of her 1917 marriage to bronc rider-steer roper Hugh Strickland, she had established a formidable reputation in the Northwest.....

Mabel’s favorite boots were topped with the four suits from a deck of cards. The image for this drawing was taken out of a lineup of cowgirls photographed around 1927. That photograph was taken at a Triangle Ranch Rodeo. ....

Had official rodeo records been kept prior to 1929, Mabel would have won more world titles than any of her contemporaries. A talented, poised, confident, qualified rodeo performer and contestant, Mabel Strickland was the cowgirl’s cowgirl.....

Mabel DeLong Strickland Woodward was inducted into the National Rodeo Hall of Fame at National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1981 and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, Fort Worth, Texas in 1992."

Pay attention to the 4 suits on the boots hearts clubs spades and diamonds

45 Helena (Last Chance Gulch) (Discovery of Last Chance Gulch - Charles Marion Russell Paintings)

for the race question it says a (n) so it would be barstool, singular

Thanks for that info, very helpful. That's what I had down and then I see the other posts and wasn't 100%.....I am now.

Ok, I have a strange situation...I got the new email this morning, about week 9. It shows our team points as 1120. I logged in this morning (under my own name & password) to see if hubby voted yet, not neccesary I know but it's a habbit for us now. Anyhow, My acct said 1120.

My husband just called to let me know that when he signed on to our team using his own name & password, it shows only 1070 points.

I just signed on as him and he's right!!
I took print-screen shots for proof.

Why would there be different points for team mates on the same team??

Guess I'll be the millionth caller to Marlboro over this promotion...:mmph:

p.s. anyboby have their phone number handy?

Do any of you have a fear of when all is said and done the items we want are going to be sold out and we will end up with glasses and beef jerky?

I also lost 50 points Sunday night.

Point update:

...on the phone with them right now...
1-800-627-5267

so far, it's the single longest phone call I've had in a loooong time. Pleasant person but holey moley it was 12 minutes of info verifying before she even asked why I had called in the first place!!:ack:

Long story short, a lot of teams have different point scores amoungst their own members and she said somebody will look into in & get back to me in 10-14 business days???

Thankfully I caught it now & not at the end when 10-14 business days will definitely effect which prize can be claimed if hubby is just 50 or so points short of what he wants!

I have my acct. & hubby has a account. Mine has 995 pts his has 961 I'm trying to get bike for him and camera for me. Keeping my fingers crossed.:ohwell:

I was going to put in my answers and realized a couple things, thought maybe I could get some help.
42. who thinks ariosa should stay like this or be capitalized?
43. am I correct in thinking that bar stool should not be capitalized?
Thanks for all the help I may get.

Since Marlboro is keeping track of all the points, I think they will have enough prizes for everyone. I don't think they will run out. Remember this is a
tax write off for them. So they want to make it as big as possible.

It should be Ariosa and bar stool. Hope that helps.
