Hotmail Users Now Get 2GB Storage!

Seems like you have to enter your email address and wait for an invitation. IS this what you all did? I have been waiting a couple days now with no invitation.

I got it, but now cant get rid of it. It sucks for me, too mcuh security so now the links and pictures dont come through without "allowing" them.
Maybe load the site in FireFox. It gave me an option to opt out.

No, i saw this on spoofee, logged into my account, and there was a green button I clicked on to activate the beta. (Didn't have to use the link specified here.) In any case I've opted out, because I wasn't big on it. I still don't really like hotmail much either. Can't open my messages in new tabs, which sucks. I also can't just copy links to my clipboard, because they're javascripted as well. One other thing is I can't save my sent messages. (I think it deletes them after a certain amount of time.) Yahoo is much better in all those regards.

2 GB Storage

Thanks to excelzus & spazntwitch!
I did reached the "mail beta" page. However, I don't know how to get it.
I followed the instruction and tried to log in again, but it still stays with the old hotmail (250 mb).

Upgrade your hotmail account to Live Mail
Gives you 2 GB storage space and works a bit like Outlook.

Step 1: Log into your hotmail account using Internet Explorer - Does not work if you try to activate this using Firefox. Also make sure your address in your hotmail account is United States.

Step 2: Click on this link

Step 3: Click Join Mail Beta
WOohoo... My account can now get more spam than it already does!

dead... it worked fine the first day for one of my hotmail accounts, and tried to switch over the other today....for the storage, not the:thumbs_do layout.... tried firefox & IE, and no worky.

anyone else getting frustrated w/ this? it's really slow lately and half the time it has trouble connecting. or is it my internet connection??

I had the beta, and dumped it... it moves slow, and my 'grandfathered in' POP accounts were no longer accessible. I cleaned them out, but i don't like the frame arrangement.

the outlook functionality is great, but it is a beta...

i do disagree that they're not working on bugs - there were several 'updates' on the main page at different times of things that were fixed or updated... so someone is trying to make it a useful tool...

I don't think it's worth the switch. The beta version is total crap. Hotmail is only good for junk anyways. Plus now you have to wait for an invitation to use their crappy e-mail.
If you're one of the few people left in the world without a gmail account, message me for an invite.

I did switch back to regular Hotmail...
