I will mark this as dead, other forums are reporting the same errors.

Don't mark this as dead yet. I just ordered it! Actually, I was using firefox and got the cookie problem so I switched to IE.

If you order from a B&M, do you still have to pay shipping?

Not dead yet

the problem seems to be in firefox for some reason.

Please try different browsers. the deal seems to be working just fine.

even with $69 shipping this is a steal.

Your right, I never tried to add it to the cart. :o

My post above was actually geared toward the people who could not seem to find this setup listed. I actually called the 2 others and they could not add to the cart either.

I kept trying for the past 2-3 hours. Finally, it worked for me a few minutes ago.
Yep, I've just ORDERED it successfully.

Deal seems to be working...i can not get it for lower than $389.
I thought i had selected the min possible.

I have cookies enabled (always did). Adding that URL to the list helps not a lick.

Funny, I have not been able to browse my way to the SR1010Z if I start on the http://www.compusa.com homepage. If there's a way there, it sure isn't obvious. :thumbs_do

Double check the speakers, as noted above. I am sure that is what the problem is. :)

Props to everyone!

Awesome Job guys. Finally it worked for me too! I LOVE SPOOFEE. I got the 64 bit processor model and it should only cost me $89 plus shipping after the rebates. You can't even buy the processor by itself for that!!

Those who succeeded, when you keep trying, do you press Add To Cart again and again or redo the entire process in a new explorer window. Keeps giving the same Cookie not found error message here and doesn't look like it will change.

Does anyone think if this is in store only or not? It says "Purchase a Presario 1010Z at CompUSA" and also states clearly a few times that the sales receit is required. I mean if they decided they didn't want to offer it, couldn't they just say it wasn't purchased at CompUSA and you don't have a sales receit?

i think that the $250 rebate might not work too because otherwise it would be listed on the product page, they only list the $50 one. the $250 rebate is probably for the ready to buy ones at the stores, not the configured ones.

I purchased mine in store today. I still had to pay $69 for shipping plus taxes, however the receipt did state on it that there was a $250 mail in rebate on this PC. I had way too much trouble ordering it online and decided to just go to the brick and mortar store during my lunch to purchase it there. I was able to use a PC they had setup specifically for ordering these "Configure To Order" machines.
Now I just hope that I don't get screwed on the mail-in rebates.

Still doesn't work for me. I've tried a couple dozen times on 3 different computers using Firefox and IE allowing all cookies and making ctoweb.compusa.com a trusted site. No joy. Is anyone still getting it to work?

I tried to order this - and called the store to verify the rebate sku # would work. I asked what the CTO stood for and he said "Configured To Order" and said the rebate would work even if it doesn't list on the site. You cannot order them in the store however he said.

I want to order a couple... but I get the cookie error as well. That's what prompted my call. Dang it!

And besides, seriously, who among us does not need another computer that needs to be reformatted and reinstalled every 120 days!!! ;)

That's what I am doing anyway!
Ha very very true. Once i reformat ITS THE FASTEST THING in the WORLD!!!!!!!! ;) Then after about 3 moths with all the stuff i dl. I can go to the gym and back and my computer still will not load. The just to start firefox takes me about another 20minutes!!!!! I am running a 64bit processor with 512mb ram too!!! (think its time to upgrade HD speed of my laptop to 7200)

Success at store - but not easy

I was able to order one for my dad -

At the store, find the custom order desk. It's just like being on line at home - but when you add it to your cart, it'll work. Unfortunately, this means you get to pay shipping and sales tax.

Then it prints out a couple pages of paper you take to the regster. Don't be surprised if two cashiers and three managers are unable to figure out how to ring it up. The guy who did finally get it to ring up has no idea how he did it.

We spent close to half an hour trying to pay for it.

The register receipt included a form for the $250 rebate.

The computer is supposed to be shipped within 2 weeks.

I just called the 1-800-8-Direct number and they transfered me to a store near me (the closest one was like 2 hours away). I guess I messed up because I had to pay tax, I should have went to a state with a cheaper sales tax.

I just told the guy the model and told him I wanted it as cheap as I could, and in like 10 seconds he had it done.

Just tried to order, upgraded to AMD 64 3200+, changed the DVD RW rom to a DVDrom/CDRW, opted for the 80 gig HD, and doubled the ram to 512.

Had to call the nearest store and was told to come in and order it to get 1 cent shipping!

Price = $459
plus 1cent shipping
plus 6% tax = $27.60
Total = $487.60
Minus $300 in rebates
Total cost = $187.60

$187.60 for a Athlon 64 3200+ with half a gig of ram is just plain stupid!

Thanks for the heads up......God, I love this place!

My thirteen year old will now have a faster computer than mine!
