DVD Shrink Software

YUP,YES,SI,YA,DA,HAI,UTZ,LLOIO, ABSOLUTETELY.If you go to file then prefrences the first cattegory: (prefrences) is says target dvd size:bla bla bla..change the dropdown menu from dvd-5 to custom and write the total amount of megs of your dual layer dvd will hold about 8.5 is it?still not 9 gigs
leave like 10 or 15 megs blank just to be on the safe side

I've always used Pinnacle and DVDdecrypter myself. I'm pleased with the results. Pinnacle let's you edits out audio tracks, subtitles, independently shrink video tracks, etc. Guess I'm too much of a creature of habit to switch.

***I think a freebie software forum sounds like a great idea***

DVDShrink has always been free, it is a great app, I have been using it for about a year now & I have not made a single bad DVD yet. You just need to play with it a little to get it perfect, also I never burn the dvd with the software provided with DVDShrink, I have it make the files into a directory, that way I can try it out before i burn it on a disk.

I use DVDShrink all the time, but I would love an alternative for when I want to split up a disc too (like DVDFab I guess)... are there any other good options for writing to multiple discs?

WOW!! I just tried the newest Version of DVD Shrink, and I put the option for BEST quality. and it blows away the DVD95COPY version I paid 45$ for a year ago.. And DVD Shrink is FREEE!!!! WOW!! Bye Bye DVD95COPY... Hello DVD Shrink.. :)

DVD title using DVD shrik will work in conventional DVD player?

I tried DVD shrink to burn DVD. But it's not recognizable in my Toshiba DVD player.
Should it work with conventional DVD player? IF so, is there any option that I have to choose?

Thanks

Thank you for your information!!
I just checked but I still find the reason. I checked on DVD-Player which support DVD-R/+R, but doesn't work. I'll try another DVD player.

DVD Shrink

Hello All -

I have an Apple Computer, so is there a version of DVD Shrink available for that??? If not, is there anything that can be suggested?

Please help.

As far as i know, DVD Shrink is for PC only.

YOu could however (im not an apple guru by anymeans), use "Virtual PC" from what i hear, and use DVD Shrink on your Apple that way.

I have also heard that DVD2ONE is a decent MAC/Apple DVD copier...

As Tuscon JP said, the key is Nero. If you have Nero installed (see forums for a free copy, well 4.99 with shipping), DVD Shrink will walk you right thru the burn process... You actually never even see Nero pop up. It kinda happens behind the scenes.

It sounds like the most likely problem is software related, and PROBABLY not related to your burner.

Hope this helps!

wow ver 3.2. then why do i keep hearing that they stopped support for it then?

1. I also have occasional backup dvd's (1 in 50) that will not play in an old RCA dvd player I have. But I just hook up the playstation 2 and am good to go. I think it is based on the origional dvd settings. Try another title by a different studio in your toshiba dvd player>

Also I have had some trouble on a progressive scan dvd player with backup dvd's. Anyone else have the same issues?

I have absolutly no issue with any quality loss on my crappy dvd player and crappy tv set using dvdshrink- dvdxcopy I did have problems. I love the new functionality of dvdshirnk and nero- It was somewhat of a pain using clonedvd on top of dvdshrink.

Another decent option if you love the quality is to set up a media server and use dvddecripter to rip them. Then S-video to the TV set. You don't even need an expensive tv-out card. There are some really cheap harddrives after rebate listed on here, and get a wireless mouse/keyboard and ethernet card and your good to go.

Best of the rest!

I tried them all and keep coming back to DVDShrink. It astounds me that for all that this progaram does, it still fits on a floppy disk. How do they do it?
