Discuss Past Months Allure Give-Aways Here

They'll send you surveys to complete for points. It's random so we just have to be patient.

:ohwell: Oh...ok, I'll try to be patient. I thought for sure the mascara thing was going to earn me my first points....I did the follow up survey and all. Did anyone else earn points for that?

Thanks for answering my question though! I appreciate it!

no points for me :convinced:

me too!

Can anyone explain to me how to earn points with them? I have been a member for awhile...but the only "activity" I ever got was the mascara. I filled out the survey and all, but no points.... Am I supposed to be doing something else?

they don't seem to like me either!
:hmm: :hmmmm2: :hmmmm2: :hmmmm2:

I'm not sure what my chances are on the Oct 1st VS Wish Perfume contest -- My times for that were 12:00:19 PM for myself & 12:00:34 PM for my SIL... (since we couldn't have our info queued before noon).

Also entered the 10/3 Body scrub one, time stamps 12:00:01 PM (me) & 12:00:06 PM (SIL)

and yesterday, 10/6, colored-eyeliner: 12:00:01 PM (me), & 12:00:05 PM (SIL).

Most of my entries for Allure (in the past) have been time stamped 12:00:01, so hopefully EVENTUALLY, some goodies will come!! :teeth:

How do you guys know down to the seconds like that? Is there some kind of extra clock you use?

If you use firefox for a browser, there's an option for a time stamp of when the page loaded. Just right-click the page, then select "View Page Info". On there will be something that says "MODIFIED" and the date & time will be noted. It's pretty much as close of an approximation as you can get with these contests.

Heads up for whats coming up in November mark your calenders:

Here's a sneak peek. The first 500 readers who sign up at noon EST on November 3, 4, 5, and 6 will receive Kenzoki Sensual Hands Balm, Clinique Turnaround Instant Facial, Bourjois Paris Holiday Soiree Eyes Kit, and Phyto 7 Gold Daily Hydrating Cream.

On November 7, the first 25 readers will score the electrifying Shiseido eye shadow in Proenza Schouler Blue, created by makeup artist Dick Page

Good Luck! :proud:

just got email from them--there no points for mascara survey :(

We apologize for any misunderstanding. This survey was not worth points.

Yours in beauty,

The Allure Experts Team

I too never got any points..i keep trying though! Hopefully they'll tell us what the points are good for!

I just got a package from DHL with a full size Garnier Wrinkle Cream in it?! Says from Johanna someone in NJ. I am wondering if this was an allure gift from aug. I only treid for a handful of things in aug and honestly don't remember what they were. Just wondering if they send that way, nothing about allure in it at all. :)

iluvbeingmama, .. a couple of us have gotten DHL packages from the same place, The products match the august allure contest where you just signed up once for each item at anytime instead of the crazy sign up at a specific time on a specific day stuff.
I wonder if the name & info would be for the person in charge of this contest as well?

I think you got it from here

Goldfish is correct--your win was from the Allure August Sampling--not the Blowout (hourly). On the Sampling, you could enter all of them one right after the other in one shot. The Blowout was every day at specific hours. Hope that helps you and others to keep this straight. They really should put a note in with the products!

Sometimes you only have "rights" if you ask in a letter form that is mailed . . .

From past experience I have learned that you usually have no "rights" if you email or call, you must request things in a written letter. Also referencing the New York's New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo will get you some attention, since he is are the overseeing official for these things in New York state and contests and sweepstakes are very regulated because of scams and corruption in the past.

NY does actually enforce the rules if they know they are being violated, and they have fined some big companies such as CVS, HR Block, etc. in the recent past. Good luck! Companies must provide a written list of winners, they do not have to provide one by email, or phone, or other method. We could try faxing, that might work.

Right now I am working on getting a win for a niece from Teen Vogue, she won a great prize and got notified by email, she replied, nothing was sent and now the email address does not work-the person at the magazine is not there anymore. We have emailed the magazine using several other emails, but now we will have to write a letter as there is no response from the magazine. It never hurts to send it certified and send it to several people at the magazine, if it is in writing, you have rights and they have to acknowledge it.

Just be polite and professional . . . and hopefully we will all get our wins!

Thanks for all your help. It is too hard remembering what you signed up for and where they come from when they don't give you any info. :)

sorry for the delay, kaija

Yes, definitely! PM me her info and I'll fwd. my last email onto her as well. :) Thanks for your efforts! I really hope one of us gets this! I've never heard this term -- What's "masthead" ??

the mast head is the page in the magazine that lists the names of the publisher, VP's and the editorial staff. Sometimes you can google the names and get info like address and phone numbers. I found that out when I won a prize from another Conde' Nast publication and they kept neglecting to send it to me after i signed all sorts of paper work and was contacted by their accounting office for tax purposes. (was not gonna pay taxes on something i didn't have)

Sorry all I had a "brain fart" and didn't follow up on this. I have been crazed at work and not focused on my SPOOFEE Friends.

I am wondering if emails and letters to the publisher will work...he/she won't see them but their administrative assistants will get annoyed if they get enough of them. That moves mountains at my company.;) ;) ;)

this is from 2007, the names in red sound like promising contacts
