Why can't I find the July 2010 Allure thread? I could swear someone started one. Just thinking ahead...starts Monday, July 5th. Oh, and I did notice an ad in the July Allure saying there will be tens of thousands of prizes in August, so it does look like the August Blowout is going to be a go again. There was also something you could do to have them remind you via text messages.

I hope you do not have to have a fancy phone to enter the August giveaways . . . cell phones do not work here, plus I could not afford the monthly bill if they did . . . I hope they are still doing it online.

They are still doing it online, I just think they are offering an hourly text reminder for the August giveaways because most people don't have the type of daily schedule where they can anchor themselves to their internet source and just wait for each hours giveaway. The text will probably be sent a couple minutes before the hour so people can get ready.
 
That's all we need: more competition. Maybe they should also run a crawl along the bottom of the screen on all the TV channels. There could be announcements in every major department and grocery store at two minutes of the hour. All forms of public transportation could stop dead in their tracks for a "moment of texting." Sirens could alert the populace...not to "duck and cover," but to be sure to get their entries in on time. Thanks a lot, Allure.

OK--here is the low-down on the Styli-Style. I finally spoke to Leslie today (she's the one the e-mail belongs to). The company seems to be "in transition," although that has nothing to do with us. Apparently, Allure sent the lists to their PR firm who did not do anything with them. When Leslie found out that the prizes hadn't been sent out, she claims that she told the warehouse to send out the 500 and 300 prizes. I told her that I never received anything (I was on the list) and that many others had not received anything either. I asked her how she wanted to handle this, and she said it was OK to post her phone #. So, if you haven't received your SS (either one prize or two from last August), please call her at 845-225-2317. Hope you all get your prizes now.

Thanks for the phone #. I left a message but I doubt that it will help. The company is just plain low down and dirty.

Thank you for the phone #. I left my # & email addy when I called yesterday. I just received an email from Leslie. She's offering to send the original win & an additional product but she has me really annoyed. She claims that my win was mailed at the end of May. That's a bunch of crap, if it was mailed, I would have received it!

As she told me, she thought that all the wins were sent out. But all she did in reality was send a bunch of labels to her warehouse. They obviously did not do the fulfillment correctly and/or completely. And even more obviously, no one was following up or verifying the sendout. She also noted that my zip code was missing the leading "0"--and that has been happening a lot with the Allure wins, but I still usually get the items with even just the four digits on the address. I have told Allure about this problem, but it may not have been rectified.

She didn't even have my address. I also asked for one of their more expensive products to try, the new concealer. I figure that I have waited almost a year for this win, sent numerous emails to Allure and emailed styli-style from their site, so my time is worth something. Actually it was my mother that I entered for that won this. I don't understand, I entered first using FF, as soon as the computer turned to noon.....but it was my mother that I entered second, using IE that won. I hope that this August goes better. That they will supply the winner's list without problems and that the wins will be shipped in a timely manner. No, I haven't been drinking or doing drugs today but I can dream!
 
i finally got the august 2009 styli-style prize, just a eye liner in a bag in a oversized envelope. after all that i went through with allure and that company i only got one sticking liner ups deliver, it cost them more to ship then the liner, i'm never going to give them my business.

That's really weird, since supposedly everything went out two months ago. She did say that they may have been out of the exact item and that maybe there was a problem with that (well, wth didn't her warehouse advise her?). I agree with Gardenia and you that this company is really one huge mess. The website has an 800#--but I got some webmaster in India when I called that number first. He gave me a number in NY which just had VM, but finally Leslie called me and gave me the new number. She did say the company changed hands last week, so that was probably the underlying cause of all the fulfillment problems with this. Whatever. I really don't care anymore. Hopefully, I'll get something and others will get something and we can call it a day.
 
Is anyone still waiting on the Ellin Lavar Textures Reconstruct Masque 8/4/2009 17:00. I don't think I got that. TIA
