Big Faux Pas......

Jerry, I think he wants to be seen as the new Lincoln. Unfortunately, he seems to have the public school history image of Lincoln, not a factual historical perspective.

On the other hand, if he can pull off that public school Lincoln, it might be what the Country needs.

...
He's been 'in office' for less than 48 hours and for 12 of them he's been partying......please tell me what he's accomplished so far for you to say "he's a lot better than what we had before"
...

let's see now
he's begun the closing of gitmo
he's directed executive agencies to open their practices to FOIA requests
he's brought people who disagree with him into his group of advisers
he's frozen or cut the pay of his top executive employees
he barred former employees from lobbying while he's in office

and he's still just getting started.

not bad for a day's work.

He gave those 'orders'....let's see if they happen....:lost:

So, what are they going to do with the residents of Gitmo?

I would propose they be set free at the site of the WTC on 9/11/09.

Honey, you better pray that he is not LINCOLN!! Lincoln and Grant only wanted to save the UNION and deport the African American folks BACK to Africa?!?! I don't think that our black citizens are ready to take a one way cruise at this point in time!!! Lincoln could have cared less about slavery, and, THAT is historically documented. Obama better not show that side or his supporters will be the first to string him up from a flag pole. Give the guy a chance, you bet. Support him, yeppers. Say that he is another Lincoln, god I hope not.

By the military's projection will take up to sixteen months.

he's directed executive agencies to open their practices to FOIA requests
We got that right, nothing new there.

he's brought people who disagree with him into his group of advisers
Actually, it was Lincoln who stated when he was critized by his followers for doing the same "At least I can keep them where I can see them!" Nothing new, move on.

he's frozen or cut the pay of his top executive employees
Only on those employees who are making over one hundred thousand dollars a year, and, with proper tenure with the Government on certain grade steps! Didn't hear HIM saying he would take a pay cut. Michelle would cut off more than his pay check.

he barred former employees from lobbying while he's in office
To much of stetch. He is only barring CERTAIN employees who have been appointed by friends or family, or have left and now are lobbying friends and family. Also, the lobbying is only on hold for TWO YEARS. Why not ban it for good? Don't speak out of both sides of your mouth. Washington business as usual. Just looks good.

and he's still just getting started.
Yeah, the dumb ass had to take his Oath of Office over again, that took another five minutes of his time. If a President cannot get the oath correct under stress, how will he lead the military in war under stress? He was given yet ANOTHER START. Wonder how many more get out of jail free cards they will give him based on the color of his skin?

not bad for a day's work.
If I pulled such antics with my patiens in one day, my medical license would have been revoked! Hey, can we impeach him yet based on the above!?!? Okay, you all are right. I will wait another week and see.

What the hell is wrong with you Dan?!?! How can you be so callous to our Yankee friends and family? The WTC should not be so disgraced by any of those filthy mongruls again.I say send them here, to me, on the Island!!!!!! Lots of woods and water. Besides, it would feed our crabs and other critters for the winter months. Good ecology and since Obama Rama Ding Dong is into alternative energy measures well shoot....this works, and, is cheap and effective!! :)

So Rags, how do you really feel?

People, people, people....this thread is getting out of hand.....Dan's first cartoon is still missing and Preco is starting to care about people.....

........
Dan....I care BTW....

And look what it has done to Rags...she is either on some super charged coffee or has turned to speed.....and she has said the word "LOVE" 13 times....
Oh now now now children...we are all suppose to feel the LOVE!! Didn't any of you all listen to the Inaugural speech and feel the LOVE?!?! Sham on every last one of you for complaining about something as simple as fairness. Feel the LOVE, LOVE I tell you!!! By the way, I would have gone to the Inauguration, but, my sheets were still in the dryer so I stayed on home. I hate "wrinkled sheets" they are so very uncomfortable.

FEEL THE LOVE I tell you!! FEEL THE LOVE SISTER!! FEEL THE FREEDOM!!! Love Love I tell you!!

FEEL THE LOVE MY BROTHER!!! FEEL THE LOVE!! LOVE LOVE I tell you the time has come for us to all reach the Promised Land of Spoofee! FEEL THE LOVE!:lol::tongue:

And no one has brought up the most important issue of all....the ugly green gloves and shoes that Michelle wore Tuesday - the dress was fantastic but the plastic, "I-just-finished-scrubbing-the-bathroom" gloves were tacky! Don't you understand what this means for our future for the next 4 years? The economy? The troops in Iraq????? Our fashion???? :ack:

OMG!!! I wrote about Michelle's fashion to someone or somewhere and now I don't know what I did with it! LOL LOL LOL That dress looked like she stripped her white bed sheets, shredded them, glued them together and stapled a strap onto it.And Preco was worried about my sheets being in the laundry! I ran out to make sure Michelle didn't break into my house and steal my laundry! But thank goodness, all my linens are accountable for...flannel, from JCPenny with blue flowers on them! Michelle,That poor thing, she needs Mama Earth Oprah to help her on the fashion line. But in all seriousness, ALL First Ladies go through that breaking in period in fashion. They all have to find their stride and what will work for them. Elegant, but, not tacky, casual but business, formal but not stuffy. It can get overwhelming. So you see, I do feel the LOVE!!! LOVE I TELL YOU LOVE!! Which is what our new President stated in his speech on Tuesday, as did both Ministers. Seeeeee...look how good I can be...I can be taught new tricks. No wait, I don't do "TRICKS" OMG! Jeb stole my coffee, that lousy mutt. No new sheets for him in his pen!:lol:

So Rags, how do you really feel?

How do I feel?!?! HOW DO I FEEL YOU ASK ME!?!?!?

A one and a two:

"I feel good da da da da...I knew that I would now!! I feeeeeeellllll good, so good (boom boom) so good, I got youuuuu bam bam bam bam!!" Or something like that!

Sorry Jerry, I didn't mean to sound negative. I did not vote for Obama, but I wish him the best. And I hope he's able to accomplish more then most of his predicesors (ok, someone correct my spelling). As Monkfish pointed out, he has taken off running and personally I'm impressed with some of the decisions he's already undertaken. It was just a childs innocence that made me laugh.

So, rags, do you use filtered water on the island for your coffee?

I do, however, agree with you. And, I agree with Dan. Let's release prisoners on the ground zero on 9/11/09 and let New Yorkers stone them to death.....preco, would you go there and throw a rock for me?!

Boulder gr8, boulder......:yesnod:

After I throw some old shoes at them first  and run them over a few times....:driver:

I think they would all enjoy a nice pork dinner.

Maybe I'll get some fellas from the village to give them a bit of sausage too....:eyebrows:

OK, everyone, my sides are hurting from laughing! I see that some folks understood exactly what I meant by releasing the Gitmo-ites at the WTC site.

Did you two collaborate on the "pork" and "sausage" comments?
For anyone who didn't see that pun, come down here in the gutter and I'll 'splain it to you.
