Vegas hotels always offer promotional rates for their members. These hotel promotions are usually lower price than anything you can get from third party websites like Hotels or Priceline.

If you are planning a trip, sign up for these rewards program to get the member rates.

So I just stayed at the Palazzo and here was my experience. Upon arrival, I did the $20 sandwich at check in and asked for late check out only. Specifically 5pm and previously they offered 6pm for $250.00. The clerk went in back to ‘check with the manager’ and came back saying it would be $50 more for 6pm checkout, I just had to come day by 11am on checkout day to sign something. At 10am I went to the desk and they informed me that the desk clerk wasn’t authorized to give late check out at that time. It was back to $250 at late check out. I said to the woman that I could book another night for $188 with tax and resort fee and would be the same price. She then goes to the back and returns saying it’s only $100 for 6pm late checkout. I paid the $20 to the clerk, $50 to the hotel originally, then $100 on day of. So all in all I paid $170 for late check out, which I guess is a deal but didn’t feel like one.

'They' didn't introduce the resort fee - the city did. By the way, just about every major city (Dallas, Austin, Vegas, NYC, anywhere) have implemented this tax on just about anything related to the convention or leisure business (rental cars, hotels, etc.) It's legalized theft.
