I went the Hyundai Genesis in Long island City Queens for the same $50 test drive offer I tried to contact them at least 50 times over a 1-year. And finally gave up it was exhausting it is horrible that a company can be in business and do this to people and there's others here said when I called up Hyundai corporate they said they cannot force them to do it some attorney should make a class action lawsuit about this if possible

The comments here don't surprise me, forget about any help
from corporate, after I purchased a Hyundai and had negative
comments on a buyer satisfaction survey nobody ever contacted
me.

They've gone cheap on us, now you only get $40.
Hyundai shareholders are delighted.

I love this offer. I've cleared $200 from it over the past few years. I went just after Xmas and I just received my card award email. Great Deal!!!

I did this a while back with a friend, but I only got the gift card.

After 6 months of trying to get the promised gift card after a test drive, the dealership bay ridge Hyundai in Brooklyn refuses to authorize the gift card. Hyundai HQ was contacted and they are completely worthless and didn’t do a thing to help rectify this deceptive advertising situation. I wouldn’t even consider buying a Hyundai If this is how they handle themselves.

do you have to test drive a car or can you call or even email the code to the dealership so they can just redeem it?
Guest
Guest #5279 - 5 years ago
I have similar situation. I suggest everyone to complain to the BBB and the FTC. Have more people complain will force action on the dealership.
Guest
Guest #5278 - 5 years ago
I suggest each of you guys complain the BBB (Better Business Bureau). I have the same issue, and Hyundai is saying the dealership opted out, but this is like 4 MONTHS after I test drove the car. Hyundai should not allow dealership to opt out until all responsibilities are met. Please complain with BBB. This will help our case for everyone.

Same thing happened to me in 2018 at Joeseph Airport Hyundai. Made several phone calls and went and talked to them. They would not help or fix it for me. I was actually considering buying, not a chance now.

NO dealers in the San Francisco Bay area will honor this gift card offer. That's what I was told by a Hyundai salesman in San Jose yesterday. Why does the website direct you to non-participating dealers anyway?

This seems to such a hit or miss deal that I'm actually thinking about boycotting Hyundai.

My daughter and I visited the Joseph airport hyundai dealership on Aug 31. We both had the $50 test drive coupon. We gave it to a man who also took our drivers licenses and made copies of them and said he would take care of the coupon. I have received emails from at least 5 different people from this dealership asking when did I want to visit and get a car. I answered each saying not interested in a car but want to know when my daughter and my coupon will be redeemed. NOTHING! I did a live chat and a lady responded and said she would get back with me. NOTHING. I emailed her again and she said she could not help me. She works there but couldn't ask why the coupons haven't been redeemed? I filled out the form on the site where you check the status of the coupon 3 times and nothing. To me the dealer accepted the coupon and said he would take of it meant he would turn it in and was participating. I have contacted hyundai corporate and they said the dealership is not owned by them (yet they have hyundai in the name) so they cannot help. This is really bad customer service. No one will answer my emails. I refuse to give them my home phone number. I cannot call or they will get it on their caller ID. We are still getting calls from another salesman we saw about 4 years ago every few months trying to get us to buy a car from him. We tell him to stop calling but he still does. We do not give out our number anymore. I feel hyundai corporate should intervene with this offer. They put it out and while it did say some dealers may not participate since the dealership we went to did take them and said they would take care of it, they haven't and won't answer our emails. I feel corporate is also responsible for this offer too.

I did this back in May and got it about one week later. The dealer I went
to had someone at the dealership in charge of these offers.
I've done this offer about 4 times over the years and received it every time. Maybe because I bought a car there several years ago.

I went to Rick Case Hyundai in Plantation, FL.on 9/12/2019. The sales manager there explained that this offer is from Hyundai and not from Rick Case Hyundai. He refused to give me a test-drive even ask me if I was interested in a car!

He suggested I try elsewhere.
I drove to this dealership from 30 miles away.
The form reads, 'go to any Hyundai dealership,'

Well this is so disapointing.

First of all Its the salesman job to help the customer They should be happy to help the customer with there gift card and not complain about it.

I am also one of those people who did this a couple of years ago and it never came. It was a $40 one back then. I've tried at both Hyundai and at a Kia. Neither of them ever actually arrived. But what did arrive was an endless stream of emails (from multiple salespeople and I had to unsubscribe to each individually) and snail mail from them that still persists today... but definitely no gift card—even though they promised it would come even on a follow-up. It's just a scam. They know people are too busy to push back too hard when they trick you like that.

The fine print says it can be done every 6 months but wait
at least 8 months.
I have received everyone in the past but the last one is
very late so far.

I went to Pride Hyundai in RI I test drove 2 cars. They said they don't participate. I showed it to them before I test drove???

For all you morons who say you didn't get a code, the code is right there to print out when you go onto the Hyundai website. Also for all you morons who never got your card, just look up your status on MygiftCardStatus.com It is right there on the bottom right hand corner of your code. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT MY LOCAL DEALER CARBONE HYUNDAI OF YORKVILLE ,N.Y. DOES NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFER ! IT TELLS ME TO GO 30 MILES AWAY TO A DEALER WHO DOES PARTICIPATE. MY LEASE IS UP IN APRIL 2019 AND I WILL TEST DRIVE A JEEP AT MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND **** HYUNDAI !

I went to South Loop Hyundai, Houston, to test drive and get my $50 Visa card. They said I would get it. I never did.

My sister-in-law went to North Freeway Hyundai to test drive and get her $50 Visa card and went around and around with them about it for TWO MONTHS! Never got the gift card. I think it is a bait and switch.

Guest #5262 - 5 years ago
Well, which is it? The text says $40 but the image is a $50 gift card.

I tried calling 3 different Hyundai dealerships. Unfortunately not a single one would honor this gift card offer.
Very sad for Hyundai management. They come up with this gift card offer,, however whats the use if your dealerships don't honor it. It just adds to negative publicity..I am NOT buying Hyundai in future..

Deal is great. I was going to test drive the Tucson anyways. The email with the $50 Amazon Gift Code was waiting for me when I got home from the dealership,

My friend and I both got a visa gift voucher, it's like a credit card that you just buy stuff over there doing it or you have to punch in the number, the dealer said we could do it every 6 months

scam. its only one per household for life. Its always the hyndai mall of ga.
worst dealership. worst manager.
Guest
Guest #5256 - 6 years ago
After following their steps to redeem their offer, the website took me to a non-participating dealer. The dealer let me take the ride and after an hour of my time said they don't do that promotion. The Hyundai consumer division said it is up to each individual dealer to honor it or not. The funny thing is I'm actually in the market for a new car and was tempted by their Tucson. Now they won't even be considered for a vehicle purchase. Avoid Hyundai!

Tried it yesterday. After the end of the test drive, the salesman said he would have to give it to the manager. The manager said their store isn't participating in that offer, despite the Hyundai website directing me to them. Don't waste your time.

I did this several years ago. As others mentioned, I never received my GC. I had even called weekly for several months in a row after the date I was supposed to have received it. Waste of time. I have had so many issues with Samsung, LG, etc. Will never buy Korean, again!

do not go to the dealer near mall of ga , thats where the coupon takes you. if you used this once you CANNOT again. Manager comes up and treats you like a criminal for using it again not knowing you.cannot. Bad dealership.

Well, I still love my Sonata I wrote about below and after over a year
it was a good purchase.
Received the $50 offer in the mail and after a quick drive of a Tucson
I now have my $50 virtual card. I didn't like the Tucson as much as the
Sonata.

We had somewhat of a minor problem, but helped dealership figure it out and got confirmation by email immediately. Be assertive, not aggressive. We also got a Starbucks $10 card

Guest #5246 - 6 years ago
It's a scam...I even bought a car and never got the card. They told me several times 'it's in the mail'....that was 6 months ago.

Guest #5245 - 6 years ago

Guest #5244 - 6 years ago
I bought a 17 Sonata last May when they had lots of rebates and discounts.
Here's a list: $3000-Hyundai cash, $1900-discount, $1500-bonus cash, $500-military, $500-loyalty, $500-boost up.
The $23,000 MSRP reduced to about $15,100.
And the best part is I really like the car.
