what are the gas prices today where you are at?

it seems that every time a major event happens the gas prices go up
 
We just took a trip this weekend and filled up several times in various locations:

Houston, Tx - $2.89
Dallas, Tx - $2.85
Bowie, Tx - $2.79

What's sad is Bowie is a little town in North Texas and they had the cheapest gas the whole trip.

you'll have to go to Santa Ana to get those prices ;) i dunno what the prices are right now though.

it seems like when someone sneezes the gas prices go up.
 
Why Does it Always Happen This Way????

When gas prices start going up (futures market) it's as if the station owners call and have the prices raised immediately, even though the gas in the storage tanks was purchased BEFORE any cost increase to the owner.
On the other hand, when gas prices start to drop, it takes an unbelievable amount of time (if ever) to trickle down to the pumps. Most of the time it seems like we never see any decrease because the next "crisis" hits before it reaches us.
To me this phenomenon looks like it would be illegal at best, immoral at least.
I have never heard this discussed in public or in the news. Am I just missing something?

The thing is, they increase the price because they need more money to buy the now higher priced oil

Update here outside Philadelphia.

Going rate is $3.29-$3.49. If you travel out to King of Prussia near the mall, it's about $3.19-$3.29. In New Jersey, it's cheaper.
 
it's $3.07 for preminum at 76. hopefully it doesnt come to $4 a gallon :zip:
 
$2.79!! yaay..but not as good as it was before the hike..(1.99)
 
$2.89 at arco preminum at trask and eucild in garden grove. $3.02 for preminum at costco in garden grove.
 
wow its getting cheaper by you guys...its around $3.05 and low 3's here in NJ
 
We finally went down to $2.97. Let's hope it keeps going down.
