trouble maker?

Think of this as a MALL.

You pick & choose which store you enter. I personally DO NOT go into Spensers Gifts. That does not mean that the mall owners should lock Spensers doors but it simply means that I choose not to enjoy the same things that so many others do. I just walk past Spensers and look for something that I will enjoy....like the cookie store!

Does anyone understand? This is not pre-school. This is a website. You have the right and the ability to pick & choose your activities while visiting Spoofee.

Seriously...this conversation is crazy and not at all on topic but as long as we are here...if I had a kid and the best they could do with a computer is find a Spoofee site to read at...I would feel a little relieved...

First off...when does anything stay 'on topic' :doh:

Second......my children are not allowed on Spoofee (nor any other site not dedicated solely to children)....this is 'my space'/adult space.....I'm an adult and really do not want to converse with a 13yo (no offense meant), I have that at home......I want 'adult' conversation.....not necessarily 'adult content' all the time....

Third....and as far as 'adult content'...Spoofee is very mild in that respect, comparatively speaking.....:yesnod:

Have I thrown a stone from a glass house at times...sure...who hasn't?

How old is that child?
They fall into 1 of 2 catergories: young child (up to 10) or older child (11-17).

No matter how old that child is, you can easily prevent that by:
1. Adding yourself as the administrator which requires a 'sign-in' and block some of their access as they would also have a sign-in of their own according to age.
2. Making sure the computer is not in a bedroom but in a 'family' section of the house where activity can be closely monitored.
3. Sit down next to the child and use the computer together.
4. Create a Desktop Folder for each child ~ in that fold are the site they are allowed to visit. If they are caught elsewhere discipline/punishment may be nesessary, limit their computer use.
5. Do you allow your children to roam the internet using your ID which would grant them full-access to mommy & daddy sites for banking, shopping, email etc?

I would worry about them entering chat rooms, using myspace (and similar sites) or messaging on Yahoo/AOL.

I guess the bottom line is ~ this should fall onto the parents obligation of how you want to handle this situation in your home. Spoofee is not responsible for your child.

I am kinda new and really enjoyed the rep thread. It gave me a chance to make some friends on here.
I first started coming for the freebies and since they are slim picking, it has started to be a habit of mine to just check in on everyone.

I myself look at the title. If I don't like it - I don't enter. It just seems like common sense:confused:

Just wanted to share my opinion.....I don't do that much, but I understand where everyone is coming from. Where is the fun? Times are tough enough for everyone around here and if someone wants to give me a few rep points for it, what is it harming?

If I look at the title and I don't like it then yes it is common sense to move on but as I stated in one of my previous post the tiltes of the threads can be misleading as far as not exactly describing what is in that thread.
 
May I suggest that everyone just grow up, quit being so sensitive, quit looking for things to be offended by. If you enjoy Spoofee, stick around. If you don't, move along. Nothing is perfect. I don't agree with everything that goes on here, but I make a few snide comments and move on.

I couldn't agree with MadonnaP more! It is everyone's responsibility to monitor their children and NOT leave them alone with a computer. I don't care how old or responsible you think they are. Heck, my son is 5, and already he manages to mash buttons that reorganize my desktop, link to crazy websites, etc. I know better than to let him sit there unattended. Parents need to be in charge...not use a computer as a babysitter. Long Live Spoofee! ok, I'm done.
 
Jeeez. Spoofee is PG-13. How hard is that? (no pun intended). No kid in his right mind would spend any time on Spoofee = BOOOOOR-ING.
For me it's a pleasant distraction and I don't think Spoofee has "lost" anyone. Sometimes people have other things to do for extended periods of time.
I like the fact that it can be a little suggestive at times without being pornographic and if someone throws in a little bar room humor, so what? (right Preco?)
If I don't like the name of a thread I don't look at it. I'm not interested in what people do with insects as an example.
I wish I had 2 cents for everybody's 2 cents and it's sure good that everybody seems apologetic about their rants! :ohwell:

Oh and as far as the rep game goes it was too wholesome before it was closed. Being such a radical I had to have it be sneeky before I would get involved. I hope something stupid doesn't replace it. It's stupid enough as it is. (not to dis it - I do it).

I started this thread to ask about the REP thread and out of curiosity as to why some threads were locked down...

Spaz was kind enough to come in, sit down and have a chat with me...

THEN instead of taking it upon yourselves to START a thread about your own questions and b!tches, you take over this thread for your moral pulpit and have a discussion about "good parenting online"...I dont have human children and personally I could care less if my cats look at porn....

Get some "nuggets" people...if you have a problem dont ride someone elses thread, make your own...your guilty of what you are griping about...no wonder no one knows whats in a thread...:mmph:

I don't see why the big worry over kids coming on here... why would they.. majority of the freebies are age restricted.. they can't sign up for them.
for the games.. yeah right.. sorry they would go to a game site ...
as for the rep. game. I thought it was pretty funny eventhough I wasn't in it .. but then I go by the thanks in a post & not a persons rep points..
and as for the posts in this section... I hope they don't change.. there are alot of times a good laugh is needed, and man you can find it here... that's why I come to spoofee instead of one of the boring "mommy" sites.
Everyone will be offended at some point in time by something... so what .. you click to something else & move on... their really are more major issues to worry about in the world.

You should be proud that you have been the catalyst (no cat pun intended) to such a varied and ever-changing thread topic.......may I suggest, if one were to wish to have a 'chat' without interruption :suspicious: there is always the option of pm's :yesnod:

If pm-ing is not desired...then be prepared for the onslaught of the Spoofee hijackers in an open forum....:yikes:....trust me, that lot is impossible to control.:doh:
